    Pros

Nice offices, but they are moving. Work life balance is good and compensation was excellent in past years (2011 my bonus was almost nothing compared to other years).

    Cons

The values of the top management is questionable, They are getting back on the right track but in the short term the company is questionable.

    Pros

Entrepreneurial culture, manager/mentor model of development, innovation is expected and smart hard workers are rewarded.

    Cons

It takes time to learn to speak up, you have to find your own value-add opportunities, no face-time means your work has to speak for itself

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Standardize recent training and development opportunities at the junior and mid-levels. Highlight the experiences of those who have built careers at FBR from the entry level to the senior levels.

    Pros

This company generally has a family-like atmosphere, and employees are all very friendly with each other.

    Cons

Senior management has generally shown a lack of consideration for employee morale, with regard to compensation as well as reassurances about where the company is going.

I worked at FBR full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Team-orientated environment, closely-knit company where you will meet everyone. Great learning environment. They seem to have very knowledgable and talented people.

    Cons

Very poor management. The upper-level has no idea what is going on day-to-day, and doesn't try to find out. The pay structure is very skewed, and it seems that support staff is under valued and unappreciated. Too many upper level executives not producing, but clogging up the balance sheet. Seems to be going downhill quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on the profit making activities and what the company is good at, and not spreading resources too thin.
