ProsOpportunities for career advancement. The senior management teams enables you to learn new technologies and attend regular training. You are strongly encouraged to move beyond your scope of responsibilities and experiment with new technologies and process to achieve greater efficiencies for the organization. The culture is one of accountability and the senior leadership team gives you the latitude to achieve your professional aspirations.

ConsThe compensation is not typically in line with your roles and responsibilities. HR needs to do a better job of aligning with job market.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work. Try and improve the feedback/recognition loop and investigate alternate methods for comparing compensation with industry peers.

Former Employee – worked at FMC full-time

ProsThe plant is big enought that you can get involved in a lot of different things, or you can focus in on one specific process. The initial training was very in depth and they made sure you were on the right track

ConsIt was a little isolated from the world, and pretty cold in the winter. That's forgivable though as your also close to the country.

Former Employee – worked at FMC

ProsSalary
Strong supply organization
Contine to make money despite themselves

ConsPolitics take driver seat, not the good of the company.
Ever changing organization results in no continuity on strategy and projects

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the games, agree on a strategy and commit to it. Short term successes will continue to keep the company in shareholder's good graces, but a sound and consistent long term strategy is lacking. Why wait to see what comes of the future and react when you can play a part in shaping it.

ProsThey pay well and take care of their employees. Great place to work.

ConsCould it be better? Sure, there are some things to improve, like getting a cafeteria. The health benefits are good, but not Personal Choice good.

Current Employee – been working at FMC as an intern

ProsProfessional and global management team
More focused on growth than in the past
Lots of locations all around the world

ConsCompany adding a lot of corporate SG&A...faster than top line and bottom line are growing
Slow to make major decisions. Wants to grow but not always willing to make the big bet and invest the resources and money required
Under resourced in terms of talent and capabilities in operations. This has/ will hold the company back as it lacks the qualified resources to execute. Invested too much in corporate management resources and not enough in line or project management resources. Getting the right ones/amount required will take a lot more time than anticipated

Advice to Senior ManagementThe company is certainly doing well but the next phase of growth will require different resources than what is present in the company now (more engineers, project managers etc..). Focus more on that versus procurement or regional management as those folks will guarantee bigger future returns. Don't be afraid to make big bets. Locking into numbers 5 years out is fine to grow the multiple but the world changes fast. Don't be afraid to spend the cash.

Former Employee – worked at FMC full-time for more than 7 years

ProsFairly good benefits and general work environment. Worked with some really good employees who cared about doing the right thing to get the job done correctly.

ConsEmployees are given very few promotional opportunities or room for growth. Management not focused on appreciating the employees and their contributions. Most of the stated goals were completely different on paper than what was actually practiced. Actions by management were typically based on who your individual manager was and their own personal agenda, not the same as the company's projected vision.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore accountability for managers to actually move the company in the desired direction. Disconnect and morale issues have caused loss of talent that cannot be easily regained.
