    Pros

People, 401K match percentage, good standing in oil and gas industry

    Cons

process heavy with little work arounds which causes delays

    political in nature between mid-managers

    Advice to Management

streamline processes. Kaizan events happen all the time but the Project Managers, Planners, and other workers see little improvements due to these events.

    Pros

Great co workers, generous tuition reimbursement plan, and subsidized Starbucks on site

    Cons

All upper management unapproachable, HR organization lacked direction/focus, and employee programs were behind industry standards

    Advice to Management

CEO should be more comfortable around his employees and encourage his management team to get to know the people in the shops who are doing the heavy lifting for most of the organization.

    Pros

Plenty of work to go around

    Good pay and benefits

Young employees for the most part (lots of new kids straight out of college)

    Cons

    Unrewarding work that is repetitive.

Not many "engineering" problems being solved. They could get away with hiring less engineers and more business grads to push the paperwork around the office.

Management seems more interested in following the process than actually getting work done. The processes sound great from a 1,000 ft view, but they don't work when it comes to daily tasks. I spent more time getting ready for meetings than anything else.

Many of the managers have only ever worked at this company. This is good in that they know what they are doing regarding the product, but bad in that they have never experienced how other companies do business.

    Advice to Management

Bring people in from outside the company to reshape how business is done.

Save money by hiring non-engineers to do most of the tasks that you are asking your engineers to do.

    Pros

Understands and knows the importance of having people involved in the overall equation.

Great engagement programs, great opportunities for growth and development, low overhead

    Cons

Struggles with making hard decisions, allows too many people to "hang on".

Has to find a better balance between the people aspect and the accountability aspect

    Advice to Management

Keep putting the right people in key jobs....don't allow old school thinking or over-collaboration rule the day

    Pros

    Lot's of training opportunities

    Cons

Some divisions are very political and difficult to progress.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people who are doing the work.

    Pros

The bathrooms are kept clean and always stocked

    Cons

Google the company, there are several lawsuits on the company discriminating against black, Indian, women and gay people. I am one of 7 African Americans in the entire office of about 300

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach, management is non/value added the employees need to be empowered.

    Pros

Market leading company in a growing area within the oil and gas/ energy industry. There are a lot of opportunities for those who know how to navigate the decision- making process. Best 401K program I've ever seen.

    Cons

Innovation in technology is clear, but other functions clearly struggle with latent improvements and processes. HR, IT, Legal, Marketing, and Finance all need radical overhauls if the company is going to compete. Businesses are siloed and allowed to operate independently.

    Advice to Management

Make difficult management decisions and demand changes from employees. This company could take over if everyone worked together. Invest in the non- obvious - outsource IT, improve HR, and require all employees in Marketing meet basic skill sets in today's environment.
