    Pros

Great coworkers. Passionate employees. Great facility.

    Cons

Pay is very low and not comparable to other hospitals. Workload is very large compared to other hospitals.

I have been working at FMOL Health System as a contractor for more than 5 years

    Pros

High volume facility with excellent medical staff. Great facility for care of the indigent patient (not for the insured or paying patient) because many physicians, especially the emergency medicine group, over-order diagnostic tests.

    Cons

Just a few cons include, but is not limited to: Poor pay; Horrible management; Filthy work environment; High turnaround rate; and the fact that the nurses are treated like prisoners of war.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Unable to share info with upper management because they do not listen to frontline medical and nursing staff. Advise to the board: Besides cleaning the hospital, you may want to clean house (i.e., upper management).

I have been working at FMOL Health System full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Never any boredom. Great place for someone who is self-taught and likes to learn new things.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance in the Clinical IS department. Very high turnover rate which in turn leaves very few knowledgeable people . Poor mentality of training employees. They fear if they train people they will leave to consult. However, that is far from the truth if the working environment were better. No room for advancement, especially if you are good at your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review your middle management and determine why turnover rates are so high. You are losing very qualified experienced people due to working environment. Invest in your employees they will invest in you.

I worked at FMOL Health System

    Pros

I had friendly enough co-workers, and I was allowed to dive into projects that interns may not normally be engaged in.

    Cons

I arrived as a tyrannical leader was leaving, so my entire department was on egg shells. Also, the Corporate Audit department has a very adversarial relationship with the rest of the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so stiff and handing down orders. Take a collaborative approach to leading your teams. I made almost twice as much per hour interning with other companies.

    No opinion of CEO
