Pros – None, maybe if your in management, they take the credit of the good hard workers below them and take all the pats on the back. You will show up one day and find out you have to work 12hr/days for the next 2 weeks with no notice and looked down upon if you cannot meet there 1 day notice.
Cons – I worked in Pittsburgh HQ for over 3yrs and I worked under the most egotistical and miserable management. Hard workers that have worked there much longer than anyone else and helped owners start the company (10-20yrs) would say "remember when people used to like coming to work", the upper management would use the new employees/temps to pump out production then dump them after working 50-60hr+/weeks just to get a quick big order out. The apple management would rule the roost with fear to bully people and keep them doing whatever they wanted. The apple management would show up without knowing anything going on and nit pick on the good hard working employees for punching in a minute late or coming back from our only 10 minute break a day and wait for people walking in a minute late. Would that make you want to work hard for that guy.
Advice to Senior Management – Take a look at all management b/c you are risking liability everyday you let them do whatever they want. Good long term employees are fed up with management and you will be left with a lot of new employees and a employees union.
Pros – There are a few unique individuals here that are some of the best people I've known and worked with.
This company used to be run by great people and had great values.
Cons – Gross mis-management with no accountability for anyone below a management position.
American engineers are slowly being kicked out in favor of a team in India, those remaining are expected to finish the same workload. There are no opportunities for advancement or improvement. Benefits here are just above the bottom of the barrel, however it seems management receives much better hidden benefits and certainly more paid time off than the grunts. Management here is entrenched and disinterested in existing employees. Some groups have such high turnover that you can't remember the new team members names.
The management here has a long history of promising you one thing and breaking it months later. Any offers from them are no better than flat out lies.
Advice to Senior Management – Why bother with advice, any interest or compassion from the top is completely fake.
It seems the entire goal is to maximize profits while crushing any remaining hope in the existing employee base. Possibly a long term goal of shuttering the entire company.
Pros – None, none, none, zero, zilch
Cons – Decisions are very sporadic and not backed-up. You are expected to do a ridiculous amount of work with no rewards or bonuses. The company practices are outdated, wasting a large amount of money, time and resources. Also, there is loud banging from factory equipment, which occurs daily.
Advice to Senior Management – Get new management!
