I have been working at FUJIFILM Medical Systems (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Full development shop, Sales&Marketing, Support, Product Managers, Architects, Development, QA, all co-located. Quick response to customer &/or internal issues. Great learning opportunities

    Cons

Japanese Conglomerate painfully slow to evolve and react to needs of the Markets, Staff, and especially Salaries & Benefits. Pay is silo'ed into grades with no consideration for experience or contribution. When they needed to adjust the pay grade range upward, no ones salary was equally adjusted upward unless your salary no longer fit.

    Advice to Management

Don't make promises you can't keep just so your staff won't look elsewhere for area comparable pay & benefits. Angry employees can concentrate on the task at hand.

I worked at FUJIFILM Medical Systems full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

-Decent pay+ benefits -Generally free from tight micromanagement (see cons) -Often allowed to work from home if able to prove trustworthy of doing so.

    Cons

-More than a few abusive, micromanaging managers -Lack of structure and concrete procedures within corporate -Backstabbing/gossiping environment encouraged (frequently by management getting in on it) -Things told in confidence with HR tends to find its way to the wrong people -No room for advancement -Management admits to setting people up to take blame, and for setting up "spies" around departments to inform on everything from lunch break times, bathroom breaks, and what people talk about on phone. -Lack of structure ensures people take on way more work than they can handle, burning out employees that work hard, and not bothering those that spend their time online, on phone, away from desk just to avoid confrontation. -Overall very weak management.

    Advice to Management

Put some serious procedures in place along with strong, encouraging managers that build up their employees instead of tearing them apart constantly. I saw no growth in productivity or employee loyalty in my time here.

I have been working at FUJIFILM Medical Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great product, great developers, Product Manager, Sales and Service engineers. Hard working people with strong commitment to creating stable customer products.

    Cons

Management plays with peoples goals, aspirations, and ambitions. Promise promotions, promise increased responsibilities, promise things have been approved then on the day you're supposed to be getting your promotion, it's excuse after excuse - we don't have management positions, we're still working to make this happen, give us 4 MORE months and your promotion will be presented, yet last year the line was "we ONLY do promotions in July!! Nothing I can do, but you'll absolutely get it next year..." OK, it's next year???

    Advice to Management

Instead of Certificates of Appreciation, praise, and commendations in front of visiting customers, as a hard working employee I'd REALLY appreciate getting the promised promotions (which was assured had been approved) when they're promised, and not the continuous toying with me because I have aspirations to get to a higher level. This is the second fail-to-deliver-switch-and-bait promised promotion, then the question from my manager, "well what are you so upset about, the money or the title?" How about BOTH boss man!! Since when do successful workers have to chose between a promised promotion OR the accompanying raise?!?!

I have been working at FUJIFILM Medical Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A majority of our Engineers are super awesome. Highly Intelligent about the Medical Information Technical and X-RAY CR/DR Technologies. Non-Management employee are team players. The pay is minimum to mid level income. Sorry more CONS that PROS Right now.

    Cons

High disorganized. To much paper work for simple tasks. No budget to spend on good technologies such as CRM, Asset Monitoring or software tools for the employee for troubleshooting and finding root causes.. Sales are down. Departments are downsizing and people are jumping ship. Overworked and management cannot comprehend aspects of correct business modeling, No training on Industry leading technologies that Fuji Vendors for and management does not keep their promises.

    Advice to Management

Pull your heads out and get some fresh air. Your restructuring in the wrong direction. Cutting corners and saving money is good but your going the wrong way. Your customers are highly dissatisfied. Your Middle management is lazy and are just riding the on shirt tails.

    Pros

Very open agile environment, no "corporate games", mostly technical stuff and teams are trying to help each other. If you like technical challenges they are everywhere. Management is involved into day-to-day activities. Actually they are sitting in the same cubicles with everybody else and keep their offices for one-on-one conversations.

    Cons

Salary raises are a bit slow.

    Pros

Overall great place to work and definitely ability to move up in the company.

    Cons

Cons would be I feel that Fuji sees their employees as replaceable and disposable.

    Advice to Management

Talk more with the lower totem pole folks to find out what is really going on

I worked at FUJIFILM Medical Systems (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fujifilm Medical Systems has excellent products in the markets that it competes in.

    Cons

They have cut back drastically and support may be insufficient to support the future growth.

    Advice to Management

Continue to support the customers and employees with adequate staffing before you spread yourselves to thin and start to lose your customer base. Keep trying to expand your product portfolio.

I worked at FUJIFILM Medical Systems full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Was a very good place to work in Stamford, CT .

    Cons

Since moving to Morrisville, NC, probably because sales are bad, it is trying to cut costs, but probably on the wrong path. Morale is low and people are leaving or asked to leave.

    Advice to Management

It is a tech company, focus on core values, good engineering, without that, nothing else matters.
