I have been working at FXI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Management is understanding if you need time off or doctor's appointment. Company has regular quarterly meetings for updates. Good Benefits for medical, dental, vision, 401K.. Department shares idea for handling customers. Good teamwork.

    Cons

Waited three years for a raise. You can not be advanced to another position within the company. Full workloads but makes the day go by fast.

    Advice to Management

The employees work really hard and need recognition and yearly raises to keep up with the cost of living.

I have been working at FXI full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The day-to-day people who work at this company are honest, hard working and want success. When we move from a distressed asset owner to a growth owner this place is going to finally turn the corner... if you can wait five years.

    Cons

The Management at this company are hell bent on breaking you under a combination of stress, disparagement and broken promises. They're looking to hire you cheap and then shove three people's jobs on top of you as soon as you walk in the door. Everyone is looking for employment somewhere else, it's 'get out before they let you go' mentality.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees and try to remember they're not pawns in your financial chess game.

    Pros

only if you are unemployed would I recommend working at FXI

    Cons

Management is always changing, no direction, not a stable work place. Don't leave a permanent job to work at FXI...no future.

    Advice to Management

    start over

    Pros

Very comfortable environment. Great working conditions. Would learn a lot being involved in the headquarters of the company and working alongside the CFO of a billion dollar company.

    Cons

Not very challenging. Not very structured of a program. Not exactly a great addition to my resume. Focus of my work would be too broad.

    Advice to Management

Develop more of a system for this program.

I worked at FXI full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Was a wonderful place to work....allowed for learning and gaining experience across multiple markets. Allowed to explore new product development.

    Cons

The people/employees that really know the product line - flexible open cell polyurethane have gone. This new group doesn't even know enough to develop the market or totally understand strengths, weakness, opportunities or threats.

    Advice to Management

Glad to see Jack Johnson is back......this is a good thing Chasing the Consumer Market is good for selling broad feet of foam with low profit margins and no technological gains leading to short term goals.

I worked at FXI full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Only the location I worked in California was a positive. There were no other positives.

    Cons

Management with no experience and zero people skills.

    Advice to Management

Don't ever turn an out-of-touch warehouse supervisor into a plant manager and/or hire a witless foreigner to run maintenance.

I worked at FXI full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Education reimbursement - was 100% - uncertain how much reduced.

    Cons

Poorly managed; knee jerk reaction to last quarter's numbers.

    Advice to Management

Learn that the people making money for the company must be treated as those with heartbeats - forget the headcount fixation.

  10. Don't plan on staying here long...

    Pros

Lots of lunch places close by in Media, you'll need to get out of the office a lot once you get to know how things work here.

    Cons

Would compare it to the Titanic, everyone is doing their best to help upper management but they are treated like 3rd class. If you aren't short and white, forget any type of advancement.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to come up with "big ideas" and start trying to keep your current business from going under.

I worked at FXI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company excels in foam manufacture. Their skillset in finding innovative solutions using foams in unparalleled. They have a highly skilled engineering department which helps drive the innovation. They have a number of patents including one for a unique manufacturing technique which is far more environmentally safe than traditional foam manufacturing.

    Cons

The company is struggling to find its way in converting to consumer products focus. The cost structure for some product lines seems out of alignment considering how vertically integrated the company is. There is a distinct lack of procedural documentation on product implementation.
