I worked at Facebook as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

    Fast moving company culture
    Fun, hard-working, and smart employees
    Great perks/competitive compensation
Work on a product that billions of people use
Company has a variety of technical issues they have to tackle, and that you can work on
Meritocracy; evaluated based on impact, not how much your manager likes you.

    Cons

Takes a while to get familiar with the code base due to some of their unique technologies, tools, and sheer size of their code base.
    Code documentation could be better.

    Cons

The commute from San Francisco. (not really a company thing)

I worked at Facebook as an intern

    Pros

The perks here are wonderful. You get free food three meals a day, five days a week, not counting the gym, the events, the off sites... In addition, Facebook is very flexible with teams. You get to choose your team and you can switch if you're discontent. Facebook really cares about its employees

    Cons

Because there's not really any hours, it's easy to get trapped in a workaholic mentality. The perks also tend to keep you there longer, all contributing to a longer (though extremely fun and rewarding) day.

I worked at Facebook as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

The campus is awesome. There is an arcade, a coffee shop, tons of options for food, most of which are delicious. It was a fun atmosphere...outside of the recruiting team.

    Cons

Recruiting team managers and director were not genuine. I always felt like they were fake. Talking behind your back and smiling in your face. No wonder all the good people in recruiting are now at pinterest!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be nice. Be genuine. Care about your team members.

I worked at Facebook full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are tons of perks but after 3yrs it doesn't matter if you are not happy with the team, job or the way you are treated.

    Cons

I have many but I'll keep this short. I'd say the biggest problem is the recruiting managment and also the lack of growth opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wow, so much to say here. Again to keep it short and sweet, I'd say stop treating people like they are work horses and move away from the belief that the more you beat them down the more you think you'll get out them.

On a side note, this is only for the recruiting team. The rest of Facebook's teams actually seemed pretty great with the exception of a few.

I have been working at Facebook as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great culture, easy to talk to anyone you want throughout the company. I felt like I was given a challenging task and able to grow as an engineer.

    Cons

Everyone is very skilled. Depending on your team, it can be hard to 'stand out' (debatable as to whether this is a con or not).

I have been working at Facebook as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

If Facebook calls you, at least listen to the pitch. There are no downsides to working at Facebook. The brand currently has enormous respect, and work is nice (although demanding). To succeed, you need to be a self starter and there is an astonishing lack of ego. In many ways, this might be the most perfect work environment.

    Cons

There is no downside to working at Facebook. I do not expect to stay long, but I will stay long enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have no advice to management and if I did, I would say so at an "all hands."
