I worked at Factory PR as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Interned 3 days a week- they treat interns better than other places, however some rudeness was involved. Pros- only having to work 3 days a week, good experience, many other summer interns

    Cons

Not paid, most likely not going to get hired after interning, no compensation for commuting

I worked at Factory PR full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Creative Environment
    - The support employees learning new skills
    - Management encourages new ideas and doesn't mind calculated risk
    - Friendly, family-like environment
    - Company yoga in office every week
    - Closed between Christmas and New Years
    - Summer Fridays
    - Pretty fair in terms of compensation - you may have to ask for it but if you deserve a raise you will likely get one

    Cons

    - Open office plan can be distracting
    - 12 minute walk from public transportation
    - Demanding clients
    - Weekly reports to clients are time consuming
    - Company often puts their interest ahead of employees
    - Health benefits are mediocre

    Pros

Great clothes and brands and good experience. It's never boring at Factory. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

    Cons

Management doesn't know how to manage and they expect you to work for nothing. Expect long hours without any thank you or consideration of your personL life.

    I worked at Factory PR

    Pros

It is fun and somewhat relaxed, as in you can come into the office still drunk from last night and no one will think twice about it.

    Cons

The people are not the nicest, which I think is evident in the frequent turnover of employees. It people were more satisfied with the company culture, they would be more inclined to stick around, which is not the case.

  7.

Good fashion industry experience but overworked and no pay.

I have been working at Factory PR as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

This internship is a good insight into the fashion public relations industry. You also get to experience New York Fashion Show backstage. The people were very nice and offered to help.

    Cons

There is no compensation or pay for hard work or overtime hours. Sometimes the work can get very repetitive and boring.

    Pros

Some really talented people who you can connect with and learn from

    Cons

A large amount of interns and is always a lot going on. So valuable employees and interns go over looked

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't take for granted the interns who actually work hard and deserve the opprotunities to grow

    I worked at Factory PR

    Pros

-not as much running around on errands as other pr internships, they actually make a point to have interns run as few errands as possible
-once you prove that you work hard, you get a number of opportunities to take charge of fun and interesting project aspects
-you are always told good job when you do a good job. no one yells or is disrespectful, and generally the entire staff is friendly and approachable, even when busy
    -very familial
    -lively, young atmosphere
    -location, right in soho

    Cons

-there were times when we were swamped with just sample check-ins and check outs and then every once in a while we would have a day with nothing to do really
-hours could be long, but not regularly
-it took a while to really learn anything about how the office performed pr and marketing functions. you really have to watch and listen and glean that information yourself since you really are not going to get the chance to actually perform a lot of those functions yourself
