Please hire professional lifeguards and train the managers better because they are not professional. Thank you.

I worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts full-time

    Pros

The company really cares about career growth and happiness. The team feels like family and everyone looks out for one another.

    Cons

It's the hospitality industry so there's a lot of turnover and the pay could be better, but overall it's a great company!

    Advice to Management

Continue growing your own tomatoes and promoting from within, that's how you'll get lasting talent and keep the company moving forward

I worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great experience for learning all areas of the hospitality business. Great Operations Departments. Great Sales Teams. Great maintenance. Great opportunities for upward mobility.

    Cons

Human Resources is very much a buddy system and centralized power. Regional Management is inconsistent. Some really great Regional Managers while others had a level of competitiveness which almost could be described as unhealthy and destructive to the staff.

    Advice to Management

Their mission statements make sense and their goals as a company profile are valid, they need to make sure that more than the line staff and middle management are following these ideals, but that the company as a whole focuses on ones strengths.

    Pros

The staff is all very friendly and works well together. Most of the people have been there forever so they know what they are doing. You can always transfer departments if you don't end up liking the department you work in.

    Cons

Not much room to move up. You always have to work late hours on weekends.
