I have been working at Fairmont Schools

    Pros

Work environment, Coworkers, Benefits, and PTO

    Cons

Management is terrible! The CEO and most of the employees at the Corporate office only care about themselves, not what is in the best interest of the school or children.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of certain Directors at the Corp office who constantly fail in their Leadership roles. Personal relationships seem to get you far, not necessarily your experience. Work on being more transparent as a company and rewards those who work hard and are positive contributions to their campuses.

    Pros

Fairmont has been around for 60+ years. It's a great school with excellent teachers and staff.

    Cons

Management needs to communicate better with parents.

  5.

If you don't fit in with their established dynamic and try to move up the promotion chain, you will be very disatisfied.

I worked at Fairmont Schools full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Centrally located. Easy access from freeway. Nice clean work environment.

    Cons

Very tight, closed pre-established territorial work groups. If you like working alone with very little or no support, this employer is for you. It's ALL about the students. Staff is only there for show and to support the hundreds of luncheons, dinners, after school parties (Marketing) and weekend gala's the campus hosts for sales and marketing purposes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Require all Administrative Staff to cross train. Re-write all their job duties to reflect real-life. Get to really know your staff and faculty. Treat everyone with respect and professionalism. Don't allow little groups to form and become all-powerful running out the really good and respected workers.

  6.

    I worked at Fairmont Schools

    Pros

Being in an academic environment and watching young minds blossom and grow, learning from co-workers, meeting new people and the opportunity for travel.

    Cons

Employees not a priority, high employee turnover, career advancement is practically non-existent, company typically hires outside instead of promoting within.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop wasting money on trainings and seminars that really aren't beneficial to the overall workplace. Promote from within so the employees feel they are actually going somewhere with their careers instead of remaining stagnate in the same position.
