    Pros

Customers and community give direct feedback. They love when you do a good job running the business. No lines, clean atmosphere, always sto cked

    Cons

No discount. High theft, you become aware of too many people trying to get over. Too many to list. High expectations/Low Rewards! I began too wonder of hard work with this company will ever pay off.

    Advice to Management

Stay ahead of project manager. Always coach and or give recognition when needed.

    Pros

Great medical benefits and 401K. You will move up from sales associate to Assistant Store Manager in no time.

    Cons

Family Dollar pay there Assistant Store Managers minimum wage. They also over work the Store Manager to the point where New York State Department of Labor got involved and have to pay the Store Managers of what they owe. They do not care about employee safety. THEY DO NOT GIVE OUT PAY RASE! Unloading the truck is the worst ever and dealing with the Ghetto on the daily bases.

    Advice to Management

Care MUCH more about your employee well being and safety. STOP BEING TO DAMN CHEAP!

    Pros

Lead team of merchandisers for new stores and renovations

    Cons

100% travel, initially was told 10 days on and four off. It is only two days off as two of the four days are travel days. No time off if project runs long.

    Advice to Management

Provide a better training program before putting managers in the field the first time. Training was inadequate.

    Pros

Above minimum wage, friendly co workers.

    Cons

ONLY MANAGERS can work full time hours. Other employees are only allowed to work part time. The location I was at was always understaffed because people would keep the job for a week, then do no call no show. I was always being called in on my days off, worked 12 days straight once. Also if you're a non manager cashier, you are very limited as to what you can do on your own. For example, every time I needed to void a ticket, I had to call a manager over. Also for returns. This results in long lines and unhappy customers.

    Advice to Management

Hire the correct amount of employees to share the workload. Give hourly employees more control of the registers.

The hours were nice worked about 35 per week, the team is small so you get to know the crew very well

    Cons

The pay is very low, benefits are expensive, and the management is in need of training.

    Advice to Management

Work on training, as well as, ensuring assistant managers receive recognition for all of the work they are required to complete.
