    terrible place to work

Social Work (Current Employee) Bay Shore, NY

Prosgood hands-on experience, caring co-workers, good hours, generous vacation time and leave time

Consno training, very hard to get supervision, agency relies on over-worked collegues to provided needed information to perfrom job, too heavy a caseload to do appropriately, HUGE staff turn-over, NO staff development, very little chance for advancement, stagnant pay, no continuing education benefit

Advice to Senior Managementtrain staff, provide support, hire adequate staff to fill case load needs, provide appropriate benefits fitting for a social service agency such as continuing education, offer more competitive salaries to hold on to great workers

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

A valuable agency to the people of Suffolk County.

    Instructor (Current Employee) Hauppauge, NY

    ProsThey take their mission seriously.

ConsThe inevitable downside of working at at not for profit. Limited earning potential, stringent regulations, budget cuts.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey need to be a bit mire forward looking and develop their Human Resources/Training Department. They are too big an agency to neglect this function.

    WORST PLACE EVER

Social Worker (Current Employee) Bay Shore, NY

Prosthere are NO PROS about this place at all

ConsThe staff doesnt know anything. Directors hire people who walk in the door without proper interview. Directors pawn all the work on line staff and then take all the credit. there is no money and always on a hiring frezze, but where do they get the money to hire new VPs and Division Directors all the time..hmm..weird..i hate this place so much. everything is personal not job related, uncomfortable walking into work everyday i would stay as FARR away from this place as possible. no room to move up or even make more then 32,000 a year...pathetic!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
