    Pros

Fun place to work while in college. Chances of moving into departments if you work hard. They also are never open on Sundays which is very nice.

    Cons

Sometimes had to work split shifts.

    Pros

It was a pretty straight forward job and that's because there were clear boundaries of what certain employees could and couldn't do.

    Cons

Not empowering their employees and the fact that they don't pay as well as other stores rubs salt in the wound.

    Advice to Management

    Happy employee, do happy work!

I worked at Fareway Food Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working at Fareway for the 2.5 years I was there. The people were always great to work with and the customers were great to talk to as well. While there was a decent amount of work it was not hard work.

    Cons

I felt that the pay for me could have been a little better but I definitely got a lot of hours and was able to quickly work my way into a position of trust with the manager and assistant manager

    Advice to Management

I would say the only advice I could give is take a little better care of your employees who are their and working a lot. If you have an employee who absolutely loves working for you and is willing to put in as many hours as you wanna give them then make sure to reward them for it

I have been working at Fareway Food Stores part-time

    Pros

assist customers to their vehicle with their grocery price match good meat department

    Cons

don't allow customers to tip carryout clerks no in store discounts no bonuses for non-management no Christmas party or appreciation don't provide rain jackets, or gloves in increment weather part time can only work average of 28 hours per week management has sold items for more then they were advertised for employees are given extra work, but no extra compensation

    Advice to Management

provide more incentives to your employees to show how much you truly appreciate them. Remember, without the cashiers, stock clerks, and carryout you would not have a store to run

I worked at Fareway Food Stores part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-manager was very accommodating to my busy schedule -I always had something to do -loved the atmosphere & relationships I made there

    Cons

-there's good money if you work hard enough to get there -not a lot of opportunities if you're not willing to relocate to different locations

    Advice to Management

create a better structured management program- having employees drop everything and leave town with a few days notice doesn't work in today's world.

    Pros

Flexible with my schedule. Management was mostly polite and courteous to me. Was given a large amount of responsibility at my age. Management was not afraid to let you sink or swim on your own. No work on Sundays and most holidays.

    Cons

We often had a very bare bone crew. The store I worked at was big on not having more people than were necessary, which I was fine with, but definitely not for everyone.

    Advice to Management

Try to grab more part time high schoolers to join the management program.
