Farm Credit of Florida merger mismanagement

    Upper Level Management (Former Employee)

ProsFarm Credit of Florida is mandated by the federal government to serve the needs of agriculture and agribusiness.

ConsThis GSE is managed by a CEO who is elected by a Board of Directors who have no qualifications other than being elected by other "members" i.e. those who have loans. Upper management is geared for self-survival and bonuses as well as serving those on the Board who vote on their remaining in their positions. It is politics and favortism at its worst. It breeds ill will of employees toward their management. Management is closed minded to outsiders and operates under the assumption they are untouchable by anyone including their funding source (AgFirst) and federal government regulators (FCA) . They lack respect for anyone who is outside the immediate family of their organization and is regularly untruthful to those who work for them and those outside who would disagree or call into question their actions. A horrible place to work because of the poorest and most unethical management imaginable; this is sad because their mandated is noble.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to accept viewpoints other than your own. Understand that you are to fulfill your mission and not line your pockets and increase your power. Your failures are demonstrated by the lack of enthusiasm and resignations of employees and the failure of being able to handle this organization and its problems as is evidenced by your own government regulators. Instead of working to defeat those who might help you, it might behoove you to embrace new ideas and look objectively at your management style and the qualifications of the managers who are in charge of the organization departments. Managers are not necessarily qualified for everything and every job just because they have been employed by Farm Credit. Progressive and effective managers welcome new ideas and utilize creative employees to grow their organizations. Experience has shown that this management says they want new ideas but scorn and discard the ideas and penalize the employee for not being on "the team".
