I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I worked as a recruiter for Farmers Insurance District Office in Granada Hills. It was a great experience. The District Manager really wanted me to learn and advance myself. He provided me with excellent direction and experience.

    Cons

The farmers corporation has a strict quota for amount of agents the district has to put on but the district manager was so great it was not hard to meet this quota. He does everything to help you succeed in your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great experience! The district manager is very knowledgable and knows what he is doing. If you really want a job where you are going to learn and be able to work hard to get to where you want to be then this is a place to apply.

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Farmers offers great benefit options including but not limited to; medical, dental, vision, 401k (6% match), EAP, multi-lingual bonus, tuition reimbursement, Paid time off (19 days for new hires with 1 floating holiday), and ride share programs.

    Cons

Hillsboro location is a long commute for those residing in Vancouver. The work environment is very time structured for front line employees in a customer facing role. This can work well for individuals who thrive in this type of environment. If you don't like tight structure a front line role may not be for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to remain open to employee suggestions. Find ways to be flexible with work shifts for employees work/life balance. Don't let the enthusiasm fade out. Keep sharing the positive feedback it helps rejuvenate all of us.

    Pros

With the right district manager and the KPI's they finally instituted in 2013, owning your own insurance agency at Farmers Insurance is very rewarding. You are in charge of your own schedule (which can be good or bad), and the residual income is great.

    Cons

Farmers will train you how to be a great insurance sales person however you should come prepared with your own background in business ownership, or be prepared to learn as you go along.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training focused on owning a business would be useful.
