    An alright company for young summer work, but it can get demanding and unrewarding very quickly.

    ProsEach shop is individually owned and operated, so it will vary.
    -Alright benefits, but not enough to rely on for anything huge.
    -Great hands-on work for beginner graphic designers.
    -Manual labor to keep you in shape.

    ConsAgain... every shop varies, but this was my experience.
    -Unfair, bottom of the barrel wages with no incentives, no bonuses (except for the franchisees)
    -Often intense manual labor that can be unsafe.
    -Absolutely no space for growth. These franchises are made to make one person happy, and that person isn't promoting anyone but themselves.

    Advice to Senior ManagementThis won't apply to all shops, but try to invest in your workers instead of rifling through them.
    For the people up top in TX, spend more time actually investigating what goes on in these shops... One store front sells 48" LED backlit channel letters, and the next one doesn't even own a bucket truck. The ability to pick and choose your store's specialties is outstanding, but there is no uniformity, whatsoever.

    Money comes before everything

    ProsThe customer base is fantastic

    ConsThe owner cares more about padding his pocket than providing a quality product or respecting his employees. He called an employee a "clocksucker" because he thought she was taking to long on a project. This employee was a great worker that always stayed busy.

    Advice to Senior ManagementRespect and take care of your employees and upgrade/repair your equipment.

    Do not work for the one in Oakbrook Terrace, IL

    ProsThese stores are all owned independently, so you may find a manager who actually knows what they are doing.

    ConsYou will not get paid what you deserve, extremely poor management, poor work environment (the store floods, the printer gives off toxic fumes because the owner refuses to fix it) Also, the owner will cut your checks without any warning. Some employees offered insurance while some are told they don't offer any.

    Advice to Senior ManagementI would shut down this location.

    Worst boss I ever had

    ProsEveryday is different, you get to make really unique signs and help your community businesses gain more attention.

    ConsNo respect, hostile work environment, unhappy people, poor communication, boss throws temper tantrums. Threats of being fired were a common occurrence, threats of pay being deducted for mistakes from miscommunication in orders. This shop is run by fear and talented employees get treated like idiots on a daily basis.

    Advice to Senior ManagementIf you hate everyday that you are an owner of FastSigns, maybe you should sell. You can also continue living everyday in your own misery. To each his own.
