Pros
Benefits, great pay, career advancement.
Cons
Classical Management, Mass Communication, and HR is only a way to encourage you to work harder. Uncertain of why they have them. I feel that the interview process is not based on how well you do on the interview but unethically chosen from a favorite worker they have. I went out for a package handler trainer position, and one of the managers through the grapevine said that the guy that got the job did horrible in the interview. Also i don't understand how someone gets a promotion with a horrible criminal background???
Advice to Senior Management
Build more of a relationship with the employees that help you tremendously!!!! I feel that are SORT MANAGER degrades a lot of our employees!!! He may wonder why he has few hard workers!!
Pros
International compnay
Locations all across the US
Recession proof business
Many different positions among mgnt
Cons
Average pay
Long hours
Holiday season can be very hectic
Expectations sometimes very unrealistic
Advice to Senior Management
For the commitment expected from the mgmt there should be more compensation. Also provide the correct resources so that the goals that are set dont become often unrealistic.
Pros
great cook outs you get paid weekly and very nice insurance for only working 4hr a day. it will be a great second job or nice to have while you are a student in college.
Cons
some driver's treat you like dirt they swear at you and the managers don't say a word to them b/c there is no union at fed ex.
Pros
Opportunity to get promoted if you are willing to move.
No Layoffs
Flexibility in hours and schedule
great coworkers to surround yourself with
Cons
Little recognition depending on manager.
Not a lot of opportunity to move up if you aren't willing to move
Pay isn't enough
Stressful peak season November & December
Pros
Fun, good workout, equal opportunities for both genders
Cons
Low promotion opportunities for those looking beyond a part time job.
Advice to Senior Management
Please don't keep managers on staff to reduce management turnover rate. If they don't show up or do their job, there are MANY people who would love a chance.
Pros
career advancement, good environment, small business opportunities
Cons
not guaranteed hours unless you advance
Advice to Senior Management
already pretty good
Pros
Benefits are great
Most positions are challenging and rewarding
Great Vice Presidents
Cons
Very low base salaries compared to UPS and other transportation companies.
Organiztional evolution made it promotion opportunities difficult to obtain because of new management and having to "reaudition" skills.
Pros
Competitive compensation and benefits, stay in shape at entry level, fun
Cons
At times time sensitivity can create stressful stations
Advice to Senior Management
Positively promotes faster results than stress
Pros
the pay is decent ($11/hr), the managers are pretty cool, minimal amount of stress, and it's a good job to have if you want to stay in shape
Cons
pay seems not worth all the physical labor, some managers can be very unprofessional, the benefits dont kick in untill working there for almost more than half a year, high risk of injury from falling boxes
Advice to Senior Management
the managers could be a little less demanding. They expect a breakneck pace of unloading trucks regardless of the fact that the truck may or may not be packed well to begin with.
Pros
Good benefits. There are good people that work for you.
Cons
Expect too much for the pay. You are never really off because they give you a phone and always expect an answer.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote the guys from the trenches that know what's going on. Dont make them carry the dummies you put in the higher positions on their backs.
