I have been working at FedEx Office full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They have the best people to work with, which is the only reason I have stayed. I'm not sure how they hired such amazing people/hard workers for poor pay.

    Cons

Under paid, over-worked, unappreciated of extreme efforts, and constant changes to your daily work that make your job more difficult! They are believe in constant changes because there's endless ways to improve a process, which is great and totally understandable but they will rip away all your resources you need for your job and add another 5 steps to your day to day process but of coarse expect more work out of you! The ONLY way to get a "decent" raise is a promotion. Very high turn around rate, so we're always short staffed and still expected to have the same high production rate.

    Advice to Management

RESPECT your employees, if you could at least get your employees to respect you and an enjoyable environment they will stick around even without the best pay.

I worked at FedEx Office full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place if you enjoy interacting with the public and working in a fast paced environment. A large number of very tenured team members.

    Cons

Work-Life Balance does not exist for Tier 3 managers. Payroll budget does not reflect staffing needs which results in team members and managers dealing with unbearable workloads. Pay does not compensate for expectations and tasks unless you have been with the company for several years. Not much opportunity for advancement unless you are willing and able to relocate. Upper management and executives are invisible. They need to get out and visit centers, speak with managers and team members, experience first hand what it is like to be responsible for a center. Human Resources lacks empathy and follow up to grievances.

    Advice to Management

Get more involved with the front line - be visible. Compensate based on job title responsibilities, not seniority.

I worked at FedEx Office full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay and bonus and tools to do the job but in general the company is very stingy.

    Cons

The worst training I have ever seen or had but managers hold you responsible for what you should know but they don't teach you in training at all. Coworkers are selfish and not all that thrilled to help you, especially if your sales are good. Management is very arrogant, demeaning, demanding and ALWAYS leave things to the last minute. Complete lack of planning and vision. Don't know how that company is still in business. They want us to work ALL the time (but disguise it very well). The Culture of the company is just sickening: very selfish and arrogant. Brian Phillips, and from him down, arrogant, arrogant, arrogant.

    Advice to Management

Leave your arrogance at home or somewhere else but don't display it with the employees. Your lack of planning, arrogance and lack of training is troublesome for some of us who are not used to working under this environment.

    Pros

Some training. Good people in the organization.

    Cons

Failed business plan and micro-managed to the point of interfering in strategic selling efforts. Countless conference calls and time exhausting exercises that have nothing to do with effective selling efforts. Assessment framework that is not in tune with the market and how accounts prefer to work. Senior management are not sales people by trade and have made a mess of it.

    Advice to Management

Senior Management: Go find something else you may be good at.

I worked at FedEx Office part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Average employee keeps job 2 years.

    Cons

Work schedule changes every single week, make deliveries that add up to hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars for deliveries generated for Fedex Office while you make around $11/hr with no health benefits because you're part time. Lower management has bad people skills and sometimes unprofessional.

I worked at FedEx Office (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Fair pay and competitive benefits.

    Cons

Company has no retail vision, hamstrings leaders at the store level to make decisions to effect their business, and seemingly only opens its doors to provide another shipping vehicle for the only part of their business that they focus on.

    Advice to Management

Let managers manage. The company is ridiculously micro-managed and there are virtually no decisions made at a store, even a district level. Robot job!
