    Pros

Benefits package is very competitive. It contains full medical (varying levels), dental and vision along with a 401K up to 5% of paycheck, dollar for dollar match. Other life insurance, medical and legal services are also included.

    Cons

pay is poor and not based on skill or knowledge. Also, the extra "bonus" team members used to receive has been either eliminated or greatly reduced since the purchase by FedEx.

    Advice to Management

I don't think senior management is the problem. To get good, skilled and knowledgeable people to work for your company, you need competitive pay. Hiring unskilled people for a skilled job keeps this company filled with unsatisfied workers and customer.

    Pros

For someone with a hs diploma looking for work the pay is good and experience isn't needed. You can always return if you need to leave for some reason. Moving up is always an option.

    Cons

Not really any opportunities to move to corporate level if you obtain a college degree. At least not where I was. Even with a degree I wasn't given the opportunity to move up, at least not by the person that actually does the hiring. My manager often encouraged me to apply though.

    Advice to Management

Hire real store managers that don't rely on employees to do 80% of their job.

    Pros

The people you work with are smart and competent

    Cons

Hiring freeze has caused the technical support call center to be severely under-staffed with no signs of improvement in the future. So when the average hold time for someone calling in is over 4 minutes, we are no longer allowed to actually troubleshoot any problems, we have to escalate all of those calls to the self-serve call back group who will get to the problem 48 hours later. It's frustrating when you know you're able to solve a problem someone is having, but aren't allowed to help that person just so an arbitrary service level agreement can be met.

    Advice to Management

Hire people to answer the phone

    Pros

Great company to work for. They have great brand recognition and many locations across the world. I think the positve ratiings given were postive in the part that they were positive in being very positive and that i have to write 100 words is ridiculous because I cant think of that many words to write about FedEx Office that used to be FedEx Kinko's and Print Centers.

    Cons

No avenues for advancement. It is the one quits one gets moved up mentality. No bias on seniority or performance. It is sometimes like a beauty pagent mentality. So I guess I will have to try and finish it up.

    Advice to Management

Need to be more open to all divisions and not focus solely on one division.

    Pros

The amount of training and grow potential in the company is exciting. There is alot of hands on training. The work is challenging but fun at the same time. Laidback atmosphere. Decent benefits. FedEx history and prestige.

    Cons

Management is a common sought goal. Competition is fierce unless you have enought time under your belt. Degrees aren't required for some of the higher positions but seniority and time put in on the forefront will help out a ordinary employee advance.

    Advice to Management

Recognize the employees more for the hard work put in. Motivate current employees with small perks.

    Strong company with good benefits.

    Cons

Senior Managment doen't have a clue about the enviroment within the centers. It's all a numbers game.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to the lower level management and make improvement to and how services are offered.

    Pros

It's a highly technical environment that allows you to learn a cool trade. Management is usually very flexible with time off requests. Pay is decent for a college student. Company feels strongly about promoting from within, whether it may be in store or at the corporate office. Co-workers are always fun and there is always a tenured member to help out with the dozens of complicated services we offer.

    Cons

STRESS!!!!! Crappy shifts. Often, the store will be extremely understaffed to take on the type of customers we attract (typical customer interactions can last anywhere from 5-45 mins.) Customers get angry when they have to wait but most of them do not understand our process and services. People come to Kinko's with an idea and we have to turn that idea into a reality.....time after time. This is not the standard retail store. There are no "cashiers". Another problem with the company is that they try to do too much. From FedEx shipping to direct mail to signs and graphics, its just too much. Alot of times, team members have no clue as to how to do certain tasks because 1. they only come once in a blue moon and 2. the training on our services suck. It's really easy to get overwhelmed by the workload, especially when you're clueless AND understaffed.

    Advice to Management

Quit with the numbers game and hire more people. The turnover rate is sad. The company is kept alive by veterans who know what they are doing, but they cannot keep new employees to save their lives. Provide more training and do away with pointless services. They try to be a jack-of-all-trades but they suck at it. Company loses money every year.

    Pros

It's fun to make copies and interact with people-if you are outgoing and detail oriented, you will enjoy being at work. There are many opportunities to socialize and to talk to people about their personal lives as you make wedding invitations or birthday party fliers.

    Cons

The work is somewhat repetitive and there can be a lot of stress. If you are clumsy, it is easy to ruin copies and waste resources.

    Advice to Management

Stop all of the rules that are impossible to follow-it is inefficient to have the whole company going behind your back.

  10. Great promotion potential to management, low wages for non management.

    Pros

There are lots of promotion opportunities as well as different branches within FedEx Office to move to. Can relocate anywhere in the U.S. without to much trouble.

    Cons

Can be very stressful. There is little to no feedback from management on job performance. Training for new hire employees does not scratch the surface of what needs to be known to work in the store. Pay is low in store for the amount of knowledge needed to work in most positions.

    Advice to Management

Center managers and senior managers need to give more feedback on job performance. Higher wadges

    Pros

You have to steal or be grossly incompetent to get fired or even written up. The company is very understanding of work/life balance. Family emergencies in moderation are encouraged to be attend to.

    Cons

Constant change without follow-through. Incomplete training programs to support constant changes.

    Advice to Management

The most recent changes have been a good direction for the company. Support the field and help them to follow-through with your initiatives.
