    Pros

Good place to work. Treat employees well. Attempts can be made to make it feel personal but it can be too much

    Cons

Not too much room for growth without deciding to move out of the area. If you decide to switch opcos expect a pay decrease for more work.

    Advice to Management

Open new opportunities for people within Pittsburgh. Offer opportunities whereas people can work from home if necessary. Trust employees

    Pros

I worked at the main headquarters in Pittsburgh as a temp/contractor. The offices are nice, nice cafeteria and was told there is an on-site health club but was not allowed to use it as a temp. The location is convenient, right off of the parkway west. The people were mostly nice and friendly.

    Cons

I would make an estimate that a good portion (half?) of the people working there are temp/contract workers. This company has no perm positions even though it seems there is plenty of work. While the people are friendly enough, the perm employees are a little standoffish, I assume because they are used to an endless cycle of temps going through. It's a shame because with companies like this, the economy will never improve. I would say don't waste your time going there as a temp/contractor/vendor, they will NEVER hire you full-time.

    Advice to Management

Create permanent positions and stop relying on temporary workers to do the work.

    Pros

-Good salary. -401k, pension -President's Club -Ability to move up (if you move)

    Cons

-Bonuses compared to other sales jobs are small. -Some managers micro manage but depends on who you have -Upper management gives you "sales pitch" and you feel like you are being sold -Have to move to get promoted -White male= hardest to move up

    Advice to Management

Be real. Don't treat us like kids.

    Pros

Secure employment with a secure company..

Pay increases less than the cost of living increase.

    Advice to Management

Pay transparency needed. Equal pay for equal work.

    Pros

Flexible Hours, Good People, Interesting and Challenging Work, Fair Management

    Cons

Under market in pay scales (utilize wide, broad base pay bands that can result in massive differences in pay within the same job code), extremely difficult to move into management roles, and behind on diversity.

    Advice to Management

Get some diversity in upper management. 50-65 year old white men shouldn't run every company. Grow your internal talent and pay them market rates. Pay bands need serious revision.

    Pros

    Flexible. Work is consistent

    Cons

No benefits, 401k or otherwise. Most people get a check and that's it.

    Advice to Management

Stop the sub contracting model. it's unsustainable.

    Pros

Systems are setup so that there is a standard template for just about everything.

    Cons

Approval levels are way beyond whats normal in other industries. Project managers are not given any more than about $20,000 authority. About that there are 4 additional approvals even for standard PO's.

    Advice to Management

Of course there needs to be some CHECK's for approvals, however, levels of authorization need to be reviewed.

    Pros

The people in my department were good people for the most part. My direct manager was one of the nicest people I've ever met that put family first in front of work even though the company does not.

    Cons

Compensation is awful for the work I was doing. Spent 10 years of my life there. Seven of those years I was stuck in one department trying to get out to no avail. I know the industry from start to finish but because it's divided into separate OP-Cos it's nearly impossible to switch to other positions. The corporate headquarters for ground is full of nepotism. I would apply for jobs then later find out the people hired had little to no experience but were friends of employees or family or attractive young women hired by male managers. Getting out was a great decision for me.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. There is so much talent you are looking over. You lost a loyal, high performing, employee because of the good ol boy mentality in Pittsburgh.
