I worked at FedEx part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

FedEx was a great company to work for, plenty of resources available to compensate their employees. A lot is expected of you physically to work in this position, and it all needs to be done quickly, but you are rewarded for your hard work.

    Cons

Working at the ramp in Austin, TX, the summer months are tough, the warehouse is hot, working on an aircraft is hot, but your body gets used to it. Like with any work place, there is miscommunication that leads to extra work needing to be done which is often frustrating.

I have been working at FedEx full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Company pays okay good benefits and people mostly.

    Cons

The companies is not what it once was. It is no longer about people like they claim. Profit is now king. Watch out for those hungry for advancement. They are the quickest to throw people under the bus. Watch what you say and get ready for a ride on the PC train. They are more worried about getting sued than keeping quality people

    Advice to Management

Stop letting the lawyers run the company. Less than 3 percent is not a raise for a performer. You will continue to loose real talent to other companies and keep the mediocre if you don't start paying people what they are worth. You pay people who leave and come back more than people who stay loyal to the company. Stop encouraging job hopping.
