    I worked at FedEx

    Pros

Workload is shared and many senior stuff members who can be good support system for junior stuff. Very stable company to work for as lay offs may be the last item on the CEOs list of cost cutting measures, he seems to care a bit about the employees.

    Cons

Wouldn't recommend for new college graduates who are still fresh & looking to develop their job skills quick as there's tendency to specialize in few job roles and not too exciting for workaholics, u may be bored with no work to do at times. Low stuff turnover, meaning very limited opportunities for growth to the next level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management may need to consider allowing junior stuff to rotate and work in as many roles within their job requirement as they can in order to help them develop a stronger job skills base. Unless they stay with FedEx they may find it hard to land a job elsewhere in the market as they find themselves with quite limited skills base but it can also be a good thing as one can become really good at what they do - subject matter expert, depending on one's priorities. That option should be there for the employee to choose which route they want to go.

I have been working at FedEx

    Pros

The pay and benefits are great at FedEx. The employees are treated as the heart of the company and that is the way it should be.

    Cons

The handler position is hard labor. It takes hard work and a motivated person to complete this job correctly. Must know that it will not be a cake walk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management needs to work with the employees on how to channel up the corporate latter. The management needs to see the employees that are working hard and help them work harder in the right direction.

I have been working at FedEx

    Pros

Good company opportunity to move up and plenty of overtime. I can work 20+ hrs in overtime per pay period. The most hrs I have work is 143 hrs in 1 pay period. That is my best paycheck to date.
The more you work the quicker you accumulate the sick hours and personal time.

    Cons

too much responsibility for amount of money Fedex pay.

    I worked at FedEx

    Pros

Management and HR have people first policy. Organization has teams with diverse ethnic and professional background which helps employees to develop strong conflict resolution, sportive spirit, relationship and team skills. Team members on many projects are spread across the country and on corporate projects members are drawn from international locations. This is both challenging for those that lack experience in working with large teams and helps develop project mgmt experience with national and international members. This company has very good reward system, tution reimbursement and many certification classes without charge. Professional growth, discipline, setting targets, goals and innovation is supported strongly through quarterly or monthly performance reviews using 1-on-1 sessions. Entire management has a candid open door policy for discussions that involve objectives, personal and professional growth with employees though it is important as professional ethics to schedule an appointment first. Also focus on work-life balance is wonderful. Management encourages innovation and loves "can do" positive attitudes. Also after work, I participated in more types of sports with other employees while working for this esteemed organization than in my entire adult and education life.

    Cons

Managers may appear to be hard to please on important projects since they want you to earn the professional and personal growth. Almost all of them balance it with a very good reward system. Middle and top management also challenge and demand performance from the managers equally. So better be prepared.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a good hard look at what you are doing to your employees, the so called (backbone) of fedex. Listen, for a change! Your business is suffering because of low moral!
