I have been working at FedEx full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great place to work, plenty of freedom, great employees, company culture and upper management.

    Cons

Don't expect to get rich here, and not much much opportunity for growth. Maybe in other parts of the US, but California is saturated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more money on sales techniques to better the sales force.

I worked at FedEx full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Stayed busy all the time. Time flew by. Never boring. Able to work outdoors.

    Cons

After being hurt on the job twice, one of which put me in intensive care for 4 days, returned to work after a few months. Ended up being fired probably because they felt I was a liability for them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't force a loyal, hardworking employee out the door just because you figure out a way to get away with it. Try to be fair and understanding and consider all the circumstances.

I have been working at FedEx

    Pros

FedEx provides job security and good benefits to its employees and the majority of its managers encourage maintaining a good work/life balance. FedEx is excellent at providing its people with all of the tools necessary to do their jobs and for the most part, still operates by its People, Service, Profit model.

    Cons

Excessive administrative requirements; Products/services offered have become a commodity

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so concerned with checking off all the boxes and creating more administrative work for your people. Trust that they'll do their jobs without being babysat. Also realize that FedEx is no longer the only game in town -- transportation has become a commodity.

    I worked at FedEx

    Pros

Great brand, decent opportunities for training.

    Cons

Very political, and a good ole boys club.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

too militaristic, quest for conformity and mediocrity. . . process driven and not people driven .. . . too much top down, and not enough bottom up communication.
