    Pros

There is a great work/Life Balance, training opportunities, fringe benefits, and co workers.

    Cons

Leadership in many cases is weak. There are not many opportunities to advance. Even if you were willing to relocate, advancement opportunities were very low. Benefits are costly for not much coverage.

    Advice to Management

Management put forth an effort to listen to concerns of employees on a yearly basis, but seldom made a meaningful impact on employee engagement. Managers that had very bad leadership skills were kept in roles if their "numbers" were good, despite having very low team morale.

  6. Has been a very fast paced environment with great structure

    Pros

When I was hired I was told by the company how they are happy to cater to students, those who have other employment, and so on by the flexibility and different shifts. I thought this was a great opportunity.

    Cons

After only a few weeks of employment, a manager has continued to harass me and most of the group I was hired with by threatening our jobs, changing our shifts, denying our break and telling us we will be forced to resign. I have tried to contact HR and let the manager know as well that I am going to talk to HR only to be told that HR doesn't care and will never return my phone call.

    Advice to Management

The reason FedEx SmartPost is a 42 million dollar company and growing is because of people like me, who show up on time, do their job and don't complain. I understand that the company is growing very fast and it might be hard to be able to promote the right people for the right positions, but I feel that with some of the current managers in Reno, they are looking at a huge liability and I don't think any company would want that and would be shocked at the manner in which we are being treated by one person in particular. Its a shame as I am told I will be forced to resign because I am unable to work a shift this manager wants to put me on. If you read the reviews for the same job in other locations and about the education reimbursement and how easy it is to get time off, this is not the case at all in Reno. I was screamed at for asking for two days off over a month in advance for my wedding anniversary.

    Pros

easy work to learn. benefits to help with college. hours are enough but not too much.cross training available so you can advance. management listens to ideas to improve the company. safety always comes first

    Cons

some of the managers lack experience. training program for new hires is a joke. not enough focus is placed on quality of work or quality of some employees. seems like a lot of favoritism at work sometimes. seems like your more likely to get promoted on the base that your managements pet, and not on qualifications.no paid holidays or time off, so when closed you lose out on pay. benefits could be a hell of a lot better for the part time employees. they don't seem to care too much about their part time employees as long as they make their company goals. ive been there since 2010 and they only just put in a payscale for my position ,but is apparently capped at 4 years. have to work thanksgiving, but at least were paid double time.

    Advice to Management

for corporate management: open up a new position for trainers in each building nation wide and put more focus on training. give better or more competitive benefits such as vacation, holiday pay, sick time,401k ,maybe even a pension that could compete with other fedex branches. offer these benefits and stop hiring people who are either unqualified or don't care about what they are doing. also put a 90 day probation period in place for new hires and offer benefits sooner. we are losing good people because of this. offer advancement training programs to those who want it and deserve it.offer more tuition reimbursement to part time mployees and management.fix the payscale so everyone gets a competitive salary and the company can be more selective about who they hire and not just anyone that comes in off the street.

  10. Average experience. I get paid moderately $10.40. Management sucks. HR hires the wrong people who cant do the job.
