    Pros

Awesome parent company and decent benefits

    Cons

IT Mgmt leads by fear... If you are not related to someone don't bother applying in the IT department

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check relationships of people who all work there... Everyone is related to someone and HR turns the other way and let's it continue

I have been working at FedEx Trade Networks Transport & Brokerage

    Pros

They paid decent and there was tons of overtime opportunities due to lack of staff.

    Cons

Overworked. Uncaring management, especially at district levels.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your mid level managers need diversity training. Leave your religious beliefs at home and don't try to force them on your employees. When people say they are discriminated against, have multiple people who have witnessed it and told you about it, try taking the employees side instead of the managers!

I worked at FedEx Trade Networks Transport & Brokerage full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Schedule stability and access to benifits, your own Dusty cubicle that you can spruce up, your own half working ancient computer with smallest screen in the world, your own dirty hard chair

    Cons

No respect from management, you're just a rat in a cubicle, pushed to over work, favoritism, they will have you doing illegal activities, no respect for foreign shippers, disorganized, no recognition, disregard any suggestions for the office (don't even reply to your email)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of office managers they encourage training that leads to a significant amount of fines and Blames lower level employees for poor leadership

The worst place to work unless you like carrying others (Memphis employee reviews are happy as Springfield carries them)

    Pros

    Always work to be done.

    Cons

    - Excessive overtime that is mandatory.
    - Required to "assist" others to get their work done. No self accountability, and this only applies to the favorites.
    - Favoritism.
    - Next to no room for advancement.
    - Wages are about 20 years behind. In no way competitive for the responsibility and knowledge required for the position.
    - GM only supports the growth of people like her, and if you are any different she will ensure you do not advance and your get nickel and penny raises. The worst in favoritism. She fires people for not doing things that even she cannot handle in her position.
    - New hires get hired on for more than tenored staff makes after 10+ years of service.
    - The office is much like high school and has lots of cliques. If you aren't "popular" people will treat you bad.
    - Mistreatment by other employees will never be addressed by management. Despite all the politically correct information in the handbook, they will allow other employees to bully individuals.
    - Your family and personal life must come last. Unless again you are part of the popular crowd, then you are allowed long lunches to go shopping.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a new general manager. You can read in these reviews just had wrong as a company you are doing it. Such a reputable name in a business should not have so many employees posting bad reviews.

    Pros

Great benefits, lots of tools to further your knowledge.

    Cons

You work hard to get nothing. Your family life does not matter. Moving up is not an option. Supervisors and managers get to come and go/take off as they please. No respect.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. We are the ones working hard to get no where.

I have been working at FedEx Trade Networks Transport & Brokerage full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility, ability to move do various parts of the company and country. Great people to work around and there is an ability to go places professionally that one normally wouldn't have an opportunity to otherwise.

    Cons

The shifts can be cumbersome and one often feels exhausted. Sometimes there can be a lot of favoritism and nepotism.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Engage with employees to find out what they like and get their ideas more. I say more because the company has avenues to do so and uses them frequently.

    Pros

FedEx is one of the world's most respected brands, takes good care of its people, promotes from within. FedEx Trade Networks, which is one of the "OpCos" that make up FedEx, is growing and trying to expand its business around the world. Although relatively small, FTN is starting to gain some respect and notice as an important part of the overall company.

    Cons

FedEx is trying to improve profitability in a weak global economy which makes it difficult to try to grow and expand... you can't do both at once.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Solve your compensation issues - don't keep kicking the can down the road on this. Pay people appropriately, stop looking to labor costs as the place to solve every financial challenge. People will only accept low Merits, no AIC, no adds to staff in operations for so long...
