Pros
There is growth potential within the company. Seniority plays a major role in promotions.
Cons
Movement between operations and corporate is quite difficult. Most corporate positions go external before internal employees have a chance at applying.
Advice to Senior Management
Look in bridging the gap between operations and corporate functions.
Pros
current vacation entitlement policy standards appear to be fair to most employees
fairly good work, family life balance at present
first level management generally are competent, fair, and interested in working with their employees to improve the work environment
Cons
absolute adherence to antiquated personel polcies that never appear to benefit the employee
promotion to upper management appears to be based on politics, including years of service and "who you know" rather than merit
dramatic increase in workloads with little change to already limited staffing resources
little difference between salary merit increases whether you are a top performer or a mediocre performer
salary and benefits are mediocre
upper management seldom appears to listen to employee suggestions coming from the ranks
no tuition refund program at present
Advice to Senior Management
Development and promotion to upper management should be based on merit rather than years on the job or who you know.
Pros
There isn't much. It's a paycheck. You get paid weekly so enjoy that, but watch your timecards and your total hours as it has been known that management has changed your hours.
Cons
You almost have to save the world in order to get any sort of recognition. Management has no real direction and offer zero support, but plenty of criticism. Apparentley, 10 years of working with no problems and glowing recommendation from previous management and plenty of customers mean nothing to current management who are more than happy to send out the dogs a little too early. S-M-A-R-T... That would be a negative. I would stay clear from this wonderful company.
Advice to Senior Management
n/a. They haven't listened for a decade, why listen now.
