I enjoyed the people I worked with. I did not think that their evaluation process is fair.

ProsThe weekly pay.
The starting pay rate.

ConsI did not like the evaluations. Specifically, the hourly scan rate.

Advice to Senior ManagementReevaluate how your hourly scan rates are figured. Specifically on the 3:30AM shift.

Training

ProsGreat benefits .
Competitive compensation .
Great place for hourly employees, 401k and portable pension.

ConsLack of work life balance.
Lack of training for new managers.
Flawed punishment system, more often than not the discipline does not meet the degree of the offense.
Difficult to hire and fire employees. Lots of red tape.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake into account that your employees are attempting to do good and training is an important part of employee development.

ProsGood on going training programs. Great company benefits. You can pick your own 8 hours between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.

ConsMicromanagement, low pay, Need to relocate for advancement. To many different computer operating systems. To much outsourcing. Buyouts.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart taking care of the people who are making you a successful company. Quit changing the territories and customers. Use salesforce to its fullest potential.

ProsExcellent company, with good management with excellent healthcare benefit package, and ample opportunity to advance. I truly enjoy being outside, traveling all the while being paid for it.

ConsPhysical demands of body, Very demanding at certain times of the year due to traffic volume, package volume and weather.

Advice to Senior ManagementUnderstand the toll that that kind of work takes on your body.
And bump up the pay.

ProsGreat benefits. Very secure job. Never boring... the day goes by very quickly. Its also nice being out on the road away from the boss.

ConsDon't enjoy the holidays much. Pay could be better, but there are overtime opportunities.

ProsGood pay and benefits - respected company - forward thinking to protect the environment - there are outstanding employees at FedEx who really care about customer service and protecting the company name.

ConsThere are managers at FedEx who have their own personal agenda to make a name for themselves and will do whatever they need to to move their career, even if it means terminating those employees. Hourly employees are better protected by the company policies than salary employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementUpper management needs to be out in the field more often, even surprise visits to see the real FedEx and not give advance notice so everything and everyone can look their best. You would be surprised to see what is done and how employees are treated.
