Pros
The best reason hands down are the medical benefits. If you are in school then tuition reimbursement is also a good perk to working at Fedex
Cons
Not many hours available to work on your shift in most cases. Not easy to go full time. Learning how to deal with the different personalities of all the people on a nightly basis.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn how to treat your employees like they deserve to be treated. Some managers not all look down on the employee and wont help them out when they are in need. Some of them will say they gotta do things by the book but in other areas you see not just one manager helping their team out when the need arises, which in turn raises morale and keep the people wanting to do their best for you versus just coming in to get a check and leave when they hate where they work or even worse hate their manager.
Pros
The pay is good. I like to provide great customer service.
Cons
Work in all weather conditions
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work.
Pros
Salary, benefits are good. People are good to work with.
Cons
Physical Labor is hard. It is hard to work in the heat.
Pros
Great Pay, Great Benefits and great people
Cons
Would like to see more quality in our health care plan
Pros
Great place to learn a skill.
Shipping Discount
Merchandise discounts
Portable Pension plan and free coffee.
Direct Management is generally okay
Cons
Lack of respect for employees at remote work sites. If you are not in Memphis or Colorado Springs forget about promotions. In my 15 years only 2 employees made it past manager and only 10 made it to manager.
Frequent purges of senior exempt employees to avoid paying pensions. Anti work attitude by senior management. Lots of promises, few deliveries. Often senior management takes credit for their employees ideas and successes.
Advice to Senior Management
Fred needs to retire, and the upper management should think about resigning as they lack any creditability with their employees
Pros
The benefits pkg and the wages are very good in today's economy.
Cons
The upper management only cares about the money. They claim to have a "People, Service, Profit" philosophy by it is actually a "Profit, Service, Profit" philosophy.
Pros
Benefits...tuition reimbursement...work hours...off on wkends
Cons
Takes a long time to top out
Advice to Senior Management
Top out employees within a merit of 5-10 years not 20 years!
Pros
Excellent benefits, retirement package, salary.
Cons
As a pilot, we generally work from 10:00pm through 6:00am. The constant shift of body clock from day to night (everyother week) can be physically exhausting and contribute to poor health.
The second "con" is I am always either packing or unpacking a suitcase. This was fun when I was young and single, but now with a family I find it quite difficult.
Advice to Senior Management
Due to the nature of our business, the majority of our busines must conducted on the back side of the clock. That being said, if possible working shorter hours during the night would greatly contribute to quality of life.
Pros
upward mobility, very organized and smart business leaders
Cons
pay raises are pathetic drivers in courier class make the same as a three year vet
Advice to Senior Management
thinking that hourly employees should be thankful to have a job is degrading
Pros
Some of the best reasons are 401k, vacation , tutition reimberishment, the amount of vacation time and salary.
Cons
It would be nice if it was easier to work in other areas when a person wanted to learn something new.
Advice to Senior Management
Give reconigtion to employees when it is needed. A little pat on the back or saying great job goes a long way.
