Current Employee - Consultant / Manager

    Pros

Exposure about different businesses, Primary Interviews across stakeholders, learning fast.
Good for a person with high curiosity, creativity, sales and marketing acumen, entrepreneurship.
Award scheme for time contributed (starts from 5 years)
Less time interval for promotions at entry and junior level (below Sr. Exec.)
Good amount of travel (near to 50%), opportunities for travel outside India (South East Asia, Middle East)
High Use of Freshers as interns for live projects (Good opportunity for Engineering and MBA freshers)

    Cons

Suspicious work culture (an integral part of market research)
Working long hours and working on weekends (part of work culture and is a basic expectation)
High attrition rate (Management's explanation is that they want it that way as this brings in new talent and new thinking - why then the award for completing 5 years)
High amount of closed mindedness (Rigidity - My way or the highway)
High Office Politics (As in any organization)
Larger time interval for promotions at middle and senior level
People dependent (person dependent adhoc way of doing things) rather than process and best practices oriented

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep on learning best practices from the industry and implement those. stop experimenting every year with new processes only to discard them next year, stop the habit and don't do it only for namesake.

Former Employee - Consultant in Bangalore (India)

    Pros

Thrown in uncharted waters from day one. Expected to juggle responsibilities much beyond the role definition. A steep SELF-learning curve; one learns as much as his/her aggression and drive for teaching him/herself.

    Cons

Results are expected without adequate support. Don't expect to be trained here. Lack of participation from senior management in operational affairs. No strategic growth plans.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please quit.

People are helpful and very supportive.
Approachable management. Very useful if you're just entering the industry

    Cons

    Pay needs to improve.

Old world mentality needs to change. People need to be open to newer tools instead of an over reliance on existing infrastructure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate training required to bring in best practices in the industry.

It's good to back your employees but you have to stop tolerating consistent mediocrity

Former Employee - Business Analyst Intern  in  Bangalore (India)
Former Employee - Business Analyst Intern in Bangalore (India)

    Pros

You are involved in the pure market research right from proposal stage to report delivery stage. Exposed to some industry standards in reporting.

    Cons

As an intern from one of the lesser known MBA colleges, there's little you can bargain for concerning the kind of work you want to do. Managers are uncompromising, deadlines are short, same old same old.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Micromanagement should be formalized. There needs to be daily status reporting to avoid last minute haphazard reporting. Managers should incentivize prompt work delivery through company wide commendation. Analysts' good work is not a Team Manager's property, analyst's bad work is. Since the delivery is largely dependent on information availability, management should train resource on scientific information gathering, rather than the attitude that "Google has answers to everything and everyone knows Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V"

    Pros

The top level management are accessible. The work culture is good.

    Cons

The interaction between the new entrants and the existing employees are very limited. The are a very few team outings and project lunch. The hike within the company is less.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is too streamlined. The fun quotient is lacking.

Former Employee - Analyst in Bangalore (India)

    Pros

As a fresher you can work sectors and multiple projects which will help you to grow better

    Cons

you will get only 10% of your variable pay, only few selected employes are given promotions, no job safety, no training for freshers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove the variable pay component, do not force employes to work on overtime and please keep major importance on quality than quantity
