Former Employee – worked at Feldco Factory Direct full-time for more than a year
Pros – Effectively trained new hires and other employees were fun to work with. Upper mgmt communication was good, with regards to expectations, however at times unrealistic.
Cons – They don't care about their employees and use them at all costs, the phrase "using you to make money" rings true here. Make unreasonable requests of employees at times. Compensation and support were terrible. Little reward for above expectation performance.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't treat your employees as replaceable and value what they bring. Nurture and grow your faithful and good employees, you get out of them what you give. Treat the installers better, make them happy, they are your direct customer experience and everyone else's job becomes easier and more fulfilling. Value ALL your employees.

Current Employee – been working at Feldco Factory Direct
Pros – - name recognition
- descent product
- advertising
- locations of offices
- there is really nothing except for the first three things listed.
Cons – - not getting paid what your supposed to
- terrible management
- good luck making a yearly bonus
- consistently having to check and recheck your commissions because things just happened to be missed.
- consistently having to lie to customers, good luck explaining the "buy one get one free" sale, or the "free installation" sale.
- (hint) basic installation is included in the pirice of the window
- constantly hiring new salemen to replace the ones to fed up to work there any more
Advice to Senior Management – do not sell your salesmen, sell your customers. Treat your sales team with respect. Learn how to properly run a sale (not the same one over and over again). Don't screw your salesmen on there commissions. Try keeping someone more than a year or two, it might benefit you to keep your salemen happy, you might be supprised how they treat you in return.

Current Employee – been working at Feldco Factory Direct
Pros – Winter Season off, with no pay.
Cons – They want you to work in the rain, snow, hail, heat doesn't matter. They take money from your checks for supposed services that someone else had to repair for you, but when you ask what job it was for no one knows. The place is horrible. Customers are always upset no matter what.
Advice to Senior Management – Quit!!! Hire people who know something about windows. The operations manager before Feldco was a warehouse boy at target.

Current Employee – been working at Feldco Factory Direct
Pros – They offer a decent product not necessarily the installation at a decent price.
Cons – Good luck getting commission money or finding out why it's withheld. Getting an answer on the commissions seems to be as closely guarded a secret as the Manhatten project. The place is like a pyramid scheme, only those at the top are allowed to make money. The "sales" are dated, high pressure tactics and if you don't sell you get a couple days before it gets rehashed. You'll notice getting from one section of the business to the other in Des Plaines reminds you of Maxwell Smart getting into headquarters from the get smart tv show. Curious that they wouldn't want employees talking to one another isn't it? It's hard to believe that was once one of the best places to work in Chicago. My advice... save your time and money and find something real to do where you and your customers aren't exploited by a few people reaping all the profits to retire on warm sandy beaches with umbrellas in their drinks. Now reread this post and the others.
Advice to Senior Management – Where to begin? Start by purchasing some books on ethics or rediscovering your roots.... if you ever had ethics. I mean really how can you possibly sleep at night without the aid of some form of alcohol or barbituate?
