I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

At the Shared Services Center (Newport News, VA) - Flex time was awesome part. Decent pay. I liked the fact that even though I started out through a temp company as temp-to-hire, my benefits went into effect the day I went permanent instead of having to wait another 90 days.

    Cons

Training......TOO INCONSISTANT. Too many people trying to train you how to do the job but they are teaching based on the way THEY do the job which is all different instead of having management train you the way the job SHOULD be done. That's what lead to my downfall!!!

    Pros

If you can get with the right Branch Manager, this is a good company to work for. However, they are very "good old boys" mentality. If you fit in you will be rewarded mightly with a very good pay and career path.

    Cons

God help you if you get someone that is only worried about their own agenda as they will make your life a living nightmare. The place I worked was openly a OSHA terrible hazardardous place to work. They cut cost by not supplying adequate racking or safety equipment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask the REAL questions of your GM's. Then ask the staff in a mail in form so it is truly anonymous about what is going on. I was at so many of your meetings where you said "we do the right thing"....but in the field it is a complete joke! Lead by fear and intimidation. Your HR Manager made open remarks in a seminar on telling us who to tell our people to vote for since Obamacare was going to cost the company a fortune. He felt it was no problem to tell our people how to vote. More harrasment and intimidation. Your legal practices femaile attorney makes outlandish statements on conference calls about how to get rid of people while on worker's compensation.

The pay was very good for a part time job. I got a lot of knowledge from this job and gained a lot of my resume.

The managers were not very good at the store I worked at, things were very unorganized a lot of the time. A lot of people goofed off and nothing was done.
