Former Employee – worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time for more than a year
Pros – I worked at the Shared Services Center in Newport News, VA. We had a lot of fun to break the monotany such as random music playing over the center's loudspeaker while people danced around their desks, summer cookouts, office olympics, fun meetings. The perks included having tuition paid for up front for classes taken at Thomas Nelson Community College, being paid for volunteering in company sponsered charity work
Cons – I can't think of any cons.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up what seems to be working
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Ferguson Enterprises part-time for less than a year
Pros – Great teamwork among the light-hearted shipping department warehouse associates. Coworkers were respectful. Spacious workspace. Would have continued work if I didn't get laid off.
Cons – The management was not motivational enough. They took a hands-off approach. Also, cleaning the warehouse was dangerous for your health. They used brooms and produced dust clouds.
Advice to Senior Management – Warehouse associates should vacuum the warehouse instead of breathe in dust in cleaning it.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – The company offers a competive salary. There is also a lot of room for progress within the company. The company also does a good job at taking care of its employees.
Cons – Ferguson will work you pretty hard. Be prepared for ten hour days. It is also very though work and can be very stressful. Ferguson also does not do a good job at training its employees.

Pros – Ferguson is a fair employer. Management is interested in the promotion of its employees. Our branch is like a team. Good coworkers, fun work environment & people that care about helping their clients succeed.
Cons – Sometimes hours can be long. I think if you are in a branch that has a bad manager, your experience could be negative since the manager really sets the tone for the branch.

Current Employee – been working at Ferguson Enterprises
Pros – The organization really cares about its people. Training and professional development opportunities are available for all associates. It is a large organization, but maintains a small, family environment.
Cons – The economy has hit Ferguson hard and the company has been forced to significantly cut expenses. This is hard for a company and has negatively impacted employees as they have had to work much harder with fewer resources.
Advice to Senior Management – Make sure managers are continually reminded to recognize how hard their people are working. It always helps to remind people that they are appreciated, especially during difficult economic times.

Pros – Fun energetic environment where no days are the same.
Cons – Long hours, skeleton crew in periods, not enough vacation and maternity leave.
Advice to Senior Management – Appreciate their biggest assets- their employees and especially their sales force because they are who makes the company.
