I worked at Ferguson Enterprises as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Very knowledgeable people, always willing to help you advance you knowledge of the systems. Willing to work with you on anything that come up in personal life.

    Cons

Only moves up if you are in with the right people. They look to much at the numbers and not the person or the support that is given. Managers are not seen on the floor, or care about the employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to ask employees how they are doing

I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Worked with some good people. If you're willing to travel across the country, there are some ok sales opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

50 work week for most employees but you get paid like you're only doing 40 hours. Upper management can be frustrating and sometimes they seem disconnected from the reality of your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try working in operations for a week.

Self centered managers that like to MICRO manage

    Former Employee - Branch Manager
    Former Employee - Branch Manager

I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good benefits, good values even though my managers didn't practice them. Strong HQ support.

    Cons

Micro management. My customers were very upset my boss let me go after 9yrs and threw Ferg's quotes in the trash after I was let go. Mgmt only cares about how they look on paper and not about they people that got them there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the good ole boy managers and start over. My boss was connected with the Regional and District managers. He used smoke and mirrors to make himself look good. No matter how well my branch preformed ultimately he took the credit for it even though he never helped or attempted to assist me to reach out to my customers. The only time I heard from him was when sales were down and if I had a Stellar month all I would get was "what does next month look like"

    Pros

If you want career, advancement and opportunity, Ferguson has it.

    Cons

Lots of hours, lots of work, lots of challenge, but that's part of being part of a company in the right place at the right time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too individual to share, but we need to remember, they were us once, and hopefully they can understand that we were them; do they remember the 4am calls, the day after day, after day or long hours.

I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Steady pay, decent benefits.

    Cons

Management has no loyalty to employees that go above and beyond without being asked to. False promises by middle management. Negotiate wages up front in writing.Surprised this company.branch hasn't been in trouble with EEOC.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat everyone the same. "Special Privileges" for favorites promotes a hostile environment and discourages other employees to perform to their full potential. Stand by your word, if you say you are going to do something for an employee make sure you do it.

I have been working at Ferguson Enterprises full-time

    Pros

Good Pay, Very Reasonably Priced Benefits, Benefits Start after 31 days, awesome coworkers who are understanding and easy to get along with

    Cons

Hours are long, the overtime is only every other day dependent upon which team you are on if it falls right your team could get stuck with all the overtime, management needs an over haul they are very unfair and treat certain individuals with obvious favoritism, most managers don't know how to do the jobs of the working individuals, to many problems that go unreported or unchanged because the people that try to report them get fired or pushed to quit

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Ferguson Enterprises full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good pay if you can negotiate it up front. Good benefits available.

    Cons

Constantly changing responsibilities. Company constantly adding responsibilities to existing, without allowing additional time to complete, and without incentives. The incentives are actually reverse incentives...do them or else....
Training is mainly offered as self paced web based and we have to take it while performing our daily job roles.
Hours are long, inflexible. Management does not back up branch associates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer real job opportunities and make career path clear. Quit shoving web based training at us that we have to take while still taking phone calls and placing orders for customers.
