Pros
-good compensation
-flexible working hours
-accommodating management to school hours
-depth of experience opportunities in all areas of bank
Cons
-sometimes too laid back
-ability to get lost if you are not self-starting, proactive, and voice your wants/needs
-possibly repetitive if you do not take it seriously and proactively
Advice to Senior Management
-clarity of communication across business lines
-keep looking for ways to increase moral at staff level
Pros
Great benefits, salary, beautiful location, some nice people. The small number of employees allows for plenty of stretch assignments, and there is an incredible tuition reimbursement program.
Cons
Very cliqueish at the top levels of management. If you're in with the in crowd, or considered a "darling" of one of the annointed, you will have a very nice bonus year after year. Lots of creative hiring or "re-engineering" to elevate or bring in cronies with no job postings or legitimate interviews.
Advice to Senior Management
Follow through on commitments to employees.
Pros
stable, appropriate pressure level and able to learn some new stuff
Cons
not much growth in career
Advice to Senior Management
keep their recent work
Pros
Good benefits
reasonable fixed hours of work
not a very stressful environment
Cons
Some coworkers still live in a different era, when nothing is more urgent than a lunch break
Advice to Senior Management
Use the same standards of work ethics and effectivenes to all emplyeyees, young or old.
Eliminate office politics
Pros
wonderful culture and the employees work as a team. The firm remains a wonderful place to work and stay for a career
Cons
Health coverage. Some areas of technology.
Pros
Good income
Good technology
Some Helpful People
Cons
Politics
Lack of Communication
Equality
It seems like there was a wide gap between those 'in the know' and the workers. Information is currency. Certain people liked to be worshiped.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't let ego's rule the company culture
Pros
The majority of the people are very friendly and easy to get along with.
Gives you a look at an interesting part of finance not many people understand
Cons
Intern program was pretty unorganized
No steady work flow, some weeks were really busy while others were dead
Was not much of a "rotational" program as they had described it
Advice to Senior Management
It seems as though management is reluctant to hand over some of their work load to the people who are there to support them.
Pros
Its highly unlikely the company will ever fold as its government sponsored. Also the people are generally pretty friendly and easy to get along with.
Cons
Some of the lifers or people who have been here for many years are resistant to change. Although many of them have left the company, they still have the ability to drag us down.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue the recent changes in the way they communicate with the employees and keep being as transparent as possible.
