Cons – The Bank is smaller and highly automated; therefore, promotions are limited because of the necessary and efficient structure of the business.

Current Employee – been working at Fhlb Dallas
Pros – Salary, benefits and facility are exceptional. Some departments have trouble allowing PTO but not all. And PTO not used may be cashed out. Everyone maintains a professional demeanor and the vast majority of employees are extremely friendly and courteous.
Cons – Being a quasi-federal entity changes do require long, drawn out processes and departments must submit to numerous regulations.
Advice to Senior Management – The atmosphere is very conservative which causes morale to suffer at times. For this to change there will need to be a shift in perspectives starting at the top.

Current Employee – been working at Fhlb Dallas
Pros – Huge Salaries, and annual bonuses to all, based upon bank and personal goals.
Good benefits package
OK PTO
Nice people
Cons – Salary isn't everything. A little respect for experience and knowledge would be nice. It's who you know not what you know. No decisions are made without major involvement of everybody possible. Changes take a literal act of Congress. OK PTO, but just don't expect to be able to take it. That's only reserved for Sr. managers.
Advice to Senior Management – Get a clue who actually does the work. Some people, particularly IT, never seem to take time off. By time off I mean, go home at a decent hour and actually spend time with their families. Oh you want weekends off? Forget about it. Why is that? You talk about being a lean company, but this is ridiculous. The only people allowed to take more than 5 days vacation is the Sr managers.
