Pros
Benefits, flex work opportunities. More opportunities on business side than IT side.
Cons
No opportunity for growth or promotion.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to eliminate sacred cows in the company which are holding new capabilities from being implemented.
Pros
Good Technology, Sharp minds, Known people
Cons
Bureaucracy, and red tape brings less productivity.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on people, power and processes and less on politics.
Pros
Good compensation, benefits and work experience
Cons
No growth for employees hired out side of Fidelity
Advice to Senior Management
stop trying many strategies at the same time
Pros
The people are great to work with and the technology was first rate. There is a feeling of community among the employees. Different technology groups work well together. There is a strong commitment to get projects completed on time.
Cons
Due to cost pressures and management short sightedness, it is no longer a fun place to work anymore. There is no reward for taking risks, panning aggressively and working hard. You are rewarded for conservatively estimating resources and under delivering on schedule.
Advice to Senior Management
Management direction seemed to cut costs and be the low cost producer. There is no longer a management vision for the company or an enterprise identity.
Pros
Benefits are very good with a 7% match
Cons
Almost impossible to change careers within company. Much better chance if you are an outsider.
Advice to Senior Management
Get good, solid people in middle management roles. In the Operations areas you have incompetent people more interested in politicking and kissing up then actually supporting the division
Pros
work from home is good option they give to employee.
Cons
i didnt find any cons...but they have lot of meetings
Pros
The Financial Representative position is a fantastic entry level position at Fidelity. It exposes you to customer's fears and educates you on how to fix them. Expects you to get your licensing exams in a timely fashion with tremendous support. Overall, this experience laid the foundation for my career in financial services, would recommend it to anyone graduating.
Cons
Repetitive. Almost too lax of a culture, professional standard sways
Advice to Senior Management
Reward talent. Start a mentor system
Pros
Transparent ; Respect for Employees; Great Culture
Cons
Lack of growth opportunities after a certain level
Pros
Very comfortable corporate environment with individuals of extremely diverse backgrounds and expertise.
Cons
Individual career growth is at times hindered by the number of employees vs. actual opportunites available.
Advice to Senior Management
Do what you can to provide as many advancement opportunities as possible, even if done in steps. This ensures that workers remain motivated.
Pros
Fidelity has an easy going atmosphere.
Cons
Movement between divisions is difficult.
Advice to Senior Management
