I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Large, privately held firm with values that are reinforced at all levels of leadership. Career opportunities are ongoing and the vast majority of people at the firm will help you progress if you're willing to do the work. Fidelity provides exceptional benefits with options based on personal needs and various family situations. While pay and bonus structures are sometimes criticized, being patient will pay off for those who are willing to wait.

    Cons

Fidelity retail is open 24 hours, causing scheduling conflicts for some candidates Career tracks within the firm can be limited due to licensing requirements, or lack of licensing flexibility in the groups

    Advice to Management

Continue listening to the people talking with the customers. Review the regional pay practices more often, especially during tight labor markets in order to attract and retain the best and brightest.

    Pros

Superior benefits, great co-workers, and a highly ethical company. It's genuinely committed to doing right by its clients. You can work in a corporate environment without feeling evil... I doubt there's a better benefits package out there. Co-workers tend to be smart, decent and pleasant people.

    Cons

Cash compensation is below that of many of its competitors. If you're on the phones, it can be draining, and high-volume times (e.g. tax time, and times of market volatility) can be wearying.

    Pros

Trading options prior to Premium/HNW Merger. Best working shifts. Days off when the market is closed.

    Cons

Blended client group ruined the job

    Advice to Management

One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight Nine Ten. Go back to the original service model of Options and Day Trading service.

    Cons

No major cons but like like any job, it can be stressful at times given it's a sales role You are also expected to work at least 10% OT although not required especially during tax season

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Development opportunities; High Integrity Culture; Salary and total compensation; Benefits; String focus on our customer experience and being an industry leader.

    Cons

Sometimes too much many layers for quick decision making. Not enough opportunities on cross business unit career moves within and across regions.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best company I've ever worked for. Pay and benefits are good, you can probably find more money elsewhere but not with the kind of support and opportunities Fidelity offers.

    Cons

Being in a phone role can be pretty monotonous and you're often fulfilling customer service requests.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up. This is a company with some excellent management. I truly appreciate their generosity and how much effort they put in to developing their people.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time

    Pros

People are professional and they care. Leadership is excellent and C level executives are very in tune with what is happening in the business. Open environment where ideas are encouraged. Fairly conservative and cautious company which means quality triumphs over speed. This means you actually have time to think and do things right with less pressure to simply deliver.

    Cons

Not a performance based company. While they claim to be, monetary reward system tends to be socialistic with little distinction for a person's productivity. Much of compensation is tied to 401K as opposed to cash in pocket. Will know more on this once I've gone through the bonus round. Once you get hired in you are fairly well set since they tend to steer away from terminations, rather they look first to place people in another position. This makes it challenging for managers who are dealing with performance issues. But even with this, the vast majority of people are top notch.

    Advice to Management

Pay for performance is really about recognizing people for going above and beyond. Have some system in place to recognize people, either through spot bonus or through distinction in salary adjustments.
