Pros
Good people work here, they are all trying to do a good job.
Cons
They work people hard, and then drop them for little or no reason.
Advice to Senior Management
New people bring new ideas, work harder to keep them. More long term employees need to be heard before being released, it's hard and frustrating work sometimes.
Pros
Good mid level management !
Cons
Very poor senior management !
Advice to Senior Management
Consider how to re-create your image into one that cares about your employees. The new CEO seems to be going in the right direction.
Pros
I have a Job and some others do not, so in that respect I feel lucky.
Cons
Lack of vision-Where are we going
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate- Explain why you make the decisions you make. Where are we going and how long before things settle down and we go back to our usual job.
Pros
Immediate management support is very good, satisfying work, good work environment, pay is slightly above average, opportunities to work with other groups are there.
Cons
New employees would benefit from an introduction to FIS' products and services. More specifically the type of applications, who are the 'customers', how many and for the IT department, what platform(s) are the applications, data sources, etc...
Advice to Senior Management
New employees would benefit from an introduction to FIS' products and services. More specifically the type of applications, who are the 'customers', how many and for the IT department, what platform(s) are the applications, data sources, etc...
Pros
The Salary and some flexibility with scheduling.
Cons
Poor management. There are employees who have been in the department on average 5 years, and upwards of 10 years. The management continues to do the same thing, but expects different results. The favoritism of these "senior" reps (age, amount of time with the company) is unbelievable. If you're a conformist with no desire for anything more, even that's not enough. This department has fired it's last new hires for one silly reason or another.
The management welcomes your ideas only if they give them to you first. Exactly. Who can work like this? You will arrive each day feeling as if this is the worst job you have ever had. No need to try and think outside of the box. You are hired to think, act, and do what the incompetent leadership wants. And that aint good. BEWARE.
Advice to Senior Management
Fire everyone and start over. Fire everyone and start over. Managers who are brought in the manage divisions who fire everyone and hire new are doing it right in this case. Now if they fire the dead weight management and senior reps who harp on being with the company for so many years, they may get somewhere. Maybe.
Pros
Heavily regarded employees have banking experience, especially in those banks that are current or prospective customers.. Product is highly regarding in the financial sector.
Cons
Project processes are ill defined with respect to lifecycle management and risk management. However, the wheels of software design and productivity seem to roll along anyway.
Advice to Senior Management
Concentrate on improving project processes aimed at customer satisfaction and increased production; target both with a eye on product quality.
Pros
Good compensation.
Not too much work pressure (because there is no work)
Subsidized lunch at 250 Rs per monyh
Cons
Every thing else
No career growth
No learning opportunities
Pathetic infrastructure (a browsing centre is far better)
Advice to Senior Management
No words!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros
FNIS is the preferred employer, in my mind, to FNF. Better work ethic, less drama.
Cons
Constantly changing, merging, you know how companies are these days. Nothing different from any other techy firm going through modern times.
Advice to Senior Management
Stay with your core values - don't get all Californian!
Pros
Flexible hours, some nice people, interesting work. You really must be self motivated and able to pat yourself on the back here though.
Cons
Poor pay (raises are minimal so get what you can coming in the door), lack of career development, lots of overtime, benefits decreased significantly after the buyout by FIS. Short-term and long-term disability previously paid by employer, now self-paid. Life insurance capped. Vacation policy is sub-standard. Very stingy on promotions.
Advice to Senior Management
Try taking care of your employees. A demoralized work force does not result in top notch customer service. Take care of those taking care of your clients.
Pros
Get to learn skills (specially at the beginning of your career)
Pushes you to think as to how to achieve goals with minimal resources
Cons
Low Pay / Yearly increase
Less Growth Opportunities
No Brand Value
Employees come last
Frequent Leadership Change
No long term aim
Advice to Senior Management
Try to work towards being like the Microsoft or Google or Infosys of the world, rather than just doing business on Economies of Scale
