    Pros

People and management were great to work with.

    Cons

A constant merry go round of layoffs thought the years.

    Advice to Management

My particular mass layoff was not handled well at all. No attempt to re organize displaced Workers within the company what so ever. Last payroll screwed up etc, at a very stressful time for the employee, they did not really seem to care. Very un professional how it was handled.

    Pros

Set schedule, good opportunity to learn how to work face-to-face with customers in a professional manner.

    Cons

Sales goals are not realistic and the training was inadequate.

    Advice to Management

Change up your training to include less classroom and more real life/real time scenarios as well as a period of on-the job shadowing before allowing new CSRs to work their own drawer. Don't play favorites with certain tellers and don't look the other way when they treat other employees or customers however they feel like it that day. When an employee (especially a new one) asks for feedback or clarification, view it as a sign of initiative and desire to become a better CSR rather than a sign or weakness.

    Pros

The benefits weren't bad, and the vacation and PTO is generous for a US company.

    Cons

You are completely disposable (which is pretty true for almost anywhere these days). If your branch is planning to restructure, they will go out of their way to find some honest mistake or procedural oversight that you (and most likely everyone else has made at one time or another) have made in order to fire you "for cause" and avoid having to shell out any unemployment compensation. I have seen this happen to employees who performed well, were dependable and cooperative, and who showed potential for future advancement. No matter what may be said to the contrary, increasing profits is much more important than treating people fairly. This is true in regard to both employees and customers. I could give a very specific example that would shed a great deal of light on this, but I will refrain. I don't feel like the "profits over people" assertion is any less true for other banks. I really do not see this bank as any worse or better than other major banking institutions. I have no vendetta against this company. I am only giving my insight and opinion so that I will be able to view complete reviews for another business. I just figure that if I'm going to be required to put forth the effort to submit a review, I might as well give an honest one.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach. Do not profess to care so much about doing the right thing for the customers, and then blatantly discourage CSR's from volunteering information to those customers that would save them money, because them doing so will result in less profit (and therefore a smaller bonus) for you.

    Pros

good work life balance, they really are trying to improve their entire process

    Cons

upper management is out of touch with what it takes to actually process a loan and needs to work on the processor's compensation plan to make it actually work in conjunction with the goals set for production. Right now you can make bonus, hit top tier and still get written up on the same day. Reporting is also broken and needs fixed

    Advice to Management

Upper management changes frequently. It would be great if upper management spent 1 week as a loan processor to get a real life feel for what they do in the trenches. Then focus on fixing the basics, reporting and compensation.
