    Pros

Always something to do. Bonuses for sales. You can go as far as you desire for this business.

    Cons

Hours can be very inconsist. Location plays a big part of your success.

    Pros

I really enjoyed working for this company. I worked at 4 locations in 2 cities from ages 16-21. This company believes in inside promotions, in addition to rewarding good behavior and increase in sales.

    Cons

Getting time off around the holidays is a bit frustrating (no surprise though, it's retail), also you can be a sales associate and have more education and skills than you AM or GM.

    I worked at Finish Line

    Pros

A fun environment, especially if you are into sports. They company kept the associate competitive, which made the job more fun.

    Cons

The pay was the biggest thing for me. You made a small hourly wage plus commission. However, the commission percentage was not that much. Even after busting your butt, you still would not make much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Again, the pay was the biggest thing for me. If you made the hourly pay or commission percentage higher, it would be more worth it for employees.

I have been working at Finish Line part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

One of the reasons that Finish Line is a great place to work because you are able to gain customer service skills as well as marketing skills, another reason that Finish Line is great because it is a great first job, especially for students who are still in school.

    Cons

The only cons are the salary, while working for Finish Line I felt the wages could have been higher or the amount of commission on a sales could have been higher.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My manager was great! The only thing that I would say that needed some work was, the communication between the Managers in Macy's and Finish Line. I worked inside of the Finish Line in the Macy's and I sometimes felt that there was a conflict of directions between the Finish Line way and the Macy's way,

I worked at Finish Line full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Have money to spend, and will spend it
    Good people

    Cons

Too many 'leaders' trying to make a name for themselves
Lack of work/life balance not addressed in critical IT positions of the company (while others in IT come in late, leave early, and take 2 hour lunches to get their workout in).
Relationships with consultants prioritized over FTE's

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop talking, do not assume that everyone prior to you or below you is dumb, and start listening to your staff...you might learn a thing or two.

I have been working at Finish Line part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great environment for college students.
    Flexible hours
    Sneakerhead paradise
    Stock leads pay is decent
    Discount

    Cons

    Lazy people

DM and regional managers are clueless.

Pay not that competitive to how much stuff you have to deal with.

Always fighting allocated hours to get stock done, but when associates need shoes they complain.

You never have enough schedule hours before the distribution center dumps another 130 more cases on you 2 days later. If your a low volume store this isn't the problem.

Corporate pushes donations and sports illustrated which are all a bunch of bologna.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More competitive pay scale. Allocate more budgeted hours.

Better handheld devices that don't require constant phone calls to work.

Get rid of Sports Illustrated program. What a crock leaves sales associates high and dry when customers realize and think they are duped. If you question this just google Finish Line SI scam

I have been working at Finish Line

    Pros

Great environment, nice offices, enthusiastic teams. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

No clue about the benefits of marketing, IT, and supply chain. After years of negotiations with Nike, the company has not improved the size of allocations it receives per store. Upper management are not sophisticated people managers.
