    Pros

Experience in customer service and retail sales fun atmosphere. Variety of shoes great discount

    Cons

Company started changing direction of payroll could be good but needs revising also keeping up with the latest trends when they are hot was an issue

    Advice to Management

Don't let people slide with the sexual harassment of others and store managers openly dating assistant managers and clearly get benefits from it just because store manager is making goals

    Pros

Great discount at 30% which is good on top of sales

    Cons

    No consistent hours.
    Not good training.

    Advice to Management

Came from various retail backgrounds and the training was horrible at the store. Didn't know daily expectations. The people you put in place for store manager need to learn how to talk to people. Don't talk to sales associates/ assistant managers like they are stupid or incapable of doing tasks train and teach them right the first time.

    Pros

i love sneakers more than anything in the whole world and love the smell and just the overall texture really does it for me and how the world needs them

    Cons

i hate the thought of selling sneakers for the rest of my life that i even have nightmares of being drowned by laces and rubber soles and suffocating from the shifty people that i talk to on a daily basis

    Advice to Management

Keep shoes to a limit try adding clothing and televisions and iPad with cool apps and maybe some hats and jackets so i can finally stop having there nightmares.

    Pros

It is a great environment for those who are involved in sports and fitness, or for those who have a love for sneakers and other casual footwear. It is a good job for students and those seeking an entry level job.

    Cons

The job is not rewarding enough for those who are seeking a career. You are asked for too much with little rewards, compensation, or growth opportunities.

    Advice to Management

The employees should be valued just as much as the customer. Never make your associates feel under appreciated and they will go above and beyond what is expected of them. This will also minimize your turnover rate.

    Pros

It was a great environment, friendly, got to meet a lot of people, and a great job to start your work experience.

    Cons

Management switched often so each time a new manager came in so did new rules. New managers were clueless about the shoe industry.

    Pros

Customer-centric environment and willing to do anything to get what the customer needs. High energy and great work environment to be in.

    Cons

Management are very sales driven and do not see well rounded employees hard work that they put in even if it isn't in sales. Choose to see what they want to see. Slow days can bring in less money and the company puts it on us.

    Advice to Management

Enjoy your employees time and give them a chance. Even in a slow store.

    30% discount
    great coworkers become lifelong friends
    flexible hours
    good teamwork

    Cons

not the same selection at every store, the store you may work at may be low in Jordan apparel and shoes almost zero to no retros then you go to one in the city that has everything.

low pay for sales associates with high standards and expectations

not much of a social life if your a good seller

if you get promoted don't just assume youll be promoted you have to follow up and nag them until they complete the process through the system and get you through your training or they'll have you running the store open to close for $5 plus commission or minimum wage on a slow day

felt like I was in high school with all the drama

    Advice to Management

become better leaders rather than just managers. and lead by example.
cooperate needs to up the base pay for all they expect out there associates. especially during holidays where most just take there losses and leave which explains the high high turnover.
the stores are the distribution centers corporate expects stores to ship 200+ shoes during holidays, spring, back to school, end of season and sell within the store along with cleaning and upkeep within stores. the associates are basically running the business

    Pros

Exciting industry and Finish Line is at the forefront in product selection, store design, technology and a strong competitive desire to be by far the most premium athletic specialty retailer in the industry...if not the whole retail industry.

    Cons

The culture of the company through up until roughly 2010 was what made it the company that it is/was. Unquestionably an incredible executive team that truly understood it's most important asset, it's people, and you felt it and were deeply inspired to be a part of the team. Those days are gone. One's desire to excel has been replaced by executive's use of fear to motivate. Very dark morale in the field. Zero confidence in the executive team. Wildly successful long-term and even shorter leaders have either left because of it or were forced out.

    Advice to Management

Keep your resume updated and be ready to be replaced on a whim.
