    Pros

There are no pros here other than the discounts on sneakers and clothes that you get and that's about all here is .

    Cons

Everything about the entire place is terrible when it comes to being employed there so I would not recommend it to anyone else

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Finish Line as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

As an intern they allow you to work as a member of a case competition which allows you to work in other areas. The projects are definitely meaningful to the company, but could definitely be classified as intern work,

    Cons

Some interns were overworked and others were under worked. Also, the pay isn't minimum wage but isn't that great either.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are several people who carry a lot more weight than others in terms of their work. Really try and decipher who those people are and who the dead weight is.

I have been working at Finish Line full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I am doing work that I love to do. The job is not very hard and allows me to work at my own pace. The job is not far so travel to and from work is very easy.

    Cons

The job is seasonal. The hours vary too much. The job does not have enough employees so we as workers are required to do the job of three people each night.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The supervisor should be able to communicate with the employees better. The Paid Time Off policies needs improving and I do not like the fact the HR department is closed during our shift.

    Pros

Great company, good pay, great people

    Cons

Slow promotions, lack of strong leadership (district manager),

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It’s horrible to have a “leader” come in not knowing anything and just making decision of the top of their head. There is some every well qualified individuals that are ready to take her place. Won’t last long making decision the way they are making them.

I have been working at Finish Line part-time

    Pros

The crew is always fun to work with. They're filled with energy and charisma which makes working fun.

    Cons

As a sales associate, you do not receive many hours per week. Pay is based on commission which can be difficult depending on the location of the store.

    Pros

People are pretty nice and its a fun environment.
Good discount and always know when the best deals are.
Management is usually pretty relaxed, especially with time off.
Will work with your schedule if you are in school.

    Cons

Commission system is terrible, especially if you are a low selling store.
Depends on store, but nobody really cares because they are unmotivated by wages.
    Hours aren't stable.
Lots of sales goals that require you to pester customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make a commission system that gives employees a real incentive to sell.

    I worked at Finish Line

    Pros

Great company if you like shoes and sports and if you like the fast pace environment of sales and customer service.

    Cons

They really work you long hours as a manager and it is really no wiggle room for not performing to the sales plan. If you don't hit plan hit the door.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As a manager you learn a lot about the business of sales and customer service.

I have been working at Finish Line full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are great. They provide dental/health/vision to all full time managers. Depending on what location you work at, that will depend on your commission and salary.

    Cons

The benefits are great. I have been with the company for 7 years and moved my way up to a Manager in Waiting position. You really have to kiss ass to your DM to move up in the company. Unfortunately, I can't do that so I won't be getting a store anytime soon. The pay for a manager and assistant manager is decent. It pays my bill. The pay for a sales associate is crap. It is commission and base pay so your minimum wage is different in the state you work at. California minimum wage with commission is 6.50. Raises happen every 6 months IF your store manager EVEN fills out your evaluation. Otherwise you will NEVER get a raise. AND raises are literally 25 CENTS!!!!
