Horrible managers with egoistic attitude

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Finning International for more than a year

ProsNoting to add in here. Would rather mention pros at caterpillar website reviews.
Finning Canada has nothing to offer.

ConsAwful management!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They won't tell you what is expected of you. No perks, less salary, just work like an ass with head down to keep your job, no proper performance mgt, no one will tell you where something will come from that will go in your file.
You will never be rewarded for a job well done, if you do a good job, your boss will see you as a threat and will try to put you down cause every boss that works with this company are egoistic.
Worse managed companies cause there is not a single competent manager.
Andy got a big job to do here, saving Canadian operations. Good luck!!

Advice to Senior ManagementHire managers who knows how to work and have some education. Who can lead, who cares for the organization, please select managers based on competences not by references.
Company culture will bring this company down for sure. No wander CAT is not sure about Finning Canada. They will have look for another dealer pretty soon.

Meat grinder

Parts Person (Former Employee)
Mildred Lake, AB (Canada)

I worked at Finning International full-time for less than a year

ProsBig Bucks. lots of OT.
Dream job turned out to be a worst nightmare

ConsLittle in the way of management skills Revolving door for most, home for the coo coo birds. Too many undertrained managers, little real direction and policies. Favouritism rampant, and long established employees can do whatever they want. Impossible Lawson program, and stupid safety rules (hard hat and stripes while at a computer station?). Mental health of employees is questionable, and not even considered by most managers.

Advice to Senior ManagementWake up please.
You are making money by accident, and could be MUCH more profitable if you asked for and took advice from the floor people.

Great people, great product, great company.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Edmonton, AB (Canada)

I have been working at Finning International

ProsIt is a place you can build a career. People and management care about each other. There are problems like all places of work but it is a good blend of small company feel with large corporation security.

ConsNot the most progressive place to work. It can been viewed as a bit resistant to change. This is more related to the industry than the company itself.
