I have been working at Firelands Regional Medical Center full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

work from home, structured sales environment, great product, and has great potential

    Cons

work from home, marketing direction is off, value quantity or quality, communication could use some work considering 80% of the employee base works from home.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

build a better relationship with your employees, get employees together more often, if you hire someone for their abilities let them act on them. since a large majority of the workforce works from home, develop a once or twice a year company meeting to get everyone on the same band wagon.

I worked at Firelands Regional Medical Center full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Benefits immediately after hire, good networking, fun perks while working like baseball Fridays and popcorn.

    Cons

Very short staffed in every department. I got tricked into thinking I was going to do administrative work, however after a month on the job I was doing nurses aid work (I have a 4 year degree). There is no room for advancement unless you want to become a nurse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't try to force everyone to go into nursing. Be upfront with new employees about what their job entails.

I worked at Firelands Regional Medical Center

    Pros

Firelands Regional Medical Center has a beautiful well maintained campus. It is a good atmosphere for patients. The care that a patient would receive there is comparable with most other hospitals.

    Cons

There is a huge gap between management and normal workers. It feels like a "us vs them" situation when you sit through a management meeting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Practice what you preach. Praise in public, reprimand in private.

    Pros

    Cons

No matter how good you are when you get involved with down sized if you don't have the seniority you are out to pasture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to employees, not just management.

    Pros

Employee recognition, benefits for part-timers, good use of technology, some really dedicated employees who love their job and are focused on doing their best for the common good. Nurses are great.

    Cons
