I worked at First American full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I cannot address the current Pros of working for this company. However, when I left in 2008, there were very few pros. Downsizing had been going on for five years. Raises and bonuses had been withheld from anyone below management for the same length of time. This began after the company went public and under the reign of the current CEO.

    Cons

There is absolutely no loyalty. The company once considered its long-term employees as their greatest assets and treated them accordingly - good salaries, substantial raises and bonuses across-the board. The first people to get the axe were the long-term employees, the ones with the history and background of the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect and appreciate your employees as Don and Parker Kennedy appreciated them.

I have been working at First American full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nothing, Senior management (India Operation only) is baseless, no idea how IT industry operates. In fact they do not have appropriate educational degree. Few of them fail in their BGC, still exist in the company.

    Cons

    - They don't have much work
    - They conduct fake interviews
    - Please don't try to go and waste your valuable time
    - Poor work culture
    - Cellular jail
    - You are watched by managers like a DOG
-Senior management less qualified, less real experienced. They don’t have professional degree (Like B. Tech, M. Tech, MCA etc.)
-So they try to act as guns
    - No professional environment
    - Revenue down by more than 40%. So huge layoff planned.

I have been working at First American full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are 3 shifts - morning, noon and night - of 8 hours each in a day compared to normal 9 hours of work in other companies. The company provides pick and drop cab facility for its employees. Work load is relatively less.

    Cons

Opportunities to advance one's career growth are few. The company doesn't offer perks or other benefits. Proportion of variable pay is high in overall cost-to-company (CTC).
