I worked at First American full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No work pressure. Salary hike every year. You can get retired in this company if you don't have any ambition to grow in your career.

    Cons

Middle and senior management incompetent and lacks vision. There is no transparency. Watchout for team politics. There are some really good as well as really bad folks. There is no guidance or support from your lead or manager. Promotion at the discretion of your manager. No feedback mechanism. No career advancement. 80/20 rule 20% ppl do all the work. Recruitment process need to improve to recruit good resources.

    Advice to Management

Recruit good managers. Some of the senior managers don't have the necessary skills. They Will try to blame everyone to save themselves. They would come with new initiatives every year but will hardly achieve anything. Because the management does not have buyin or commitment from the team members. Senior manager believe that changing their team members will bring results but fact is change the managers who are in the company for years and not able to deliver.

I worked at First American full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a "real" company with great benefits with opportunities for rewards, training, and advancement. The campus is beautiful and the people are diverse with the commonality of loving the company. The corporate branding and events are flawless.

    Cons

As in any large organization, the decision making process is a little slow. The division where I worked had some flawed inter-departmental communications between, which was really only visible to employees and mid-level management at the time. But I've heard they've restructured things since, and executive management has improved in that particular division.

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring people who care about the success of the company and who understand how to ethically increase shareholder value. Company wide communication is disseminated perfectly from the corporate level, but may need additional follow-up on behalf of a few divisions.

I have been working at First American full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, plenty of positions and opportunities to cross train. Paid holidays and paid time off. Spirit committee ensures everyone is included and keeps it interesting at work.

    Cons

Raises are a joke and rare. Expectations are too high. Little to no training. Inexperienced management, poor communication, and minimal support from management.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Get to know them. Consider different ways of approaching a situation and don't be so fast to write them up or be too busy for them. Train train train!!!!!

    Pros

This is for Bangalore ITPL Branch: Nothing as such in pro except NO-WORK (if you think this is PRO)

    Cons

This is for Bangalore ITPL Branch: - They don't have much work - They conduct fake interviews - Please don't try to go and waste your valuable time - Poor work culture - Cellular jail - You are watched by managers like a DOG -Senior management less qualified, less real experienced -So they try to act as goons - No professional environment - Senior Management does not possess any professional degree, just BA/B Com etc. So they can mingle with such low grade people.

    Advice to Management

This is for Bangalore ITPL Branch: Group of frauds, so advise will not work :) In fact they are not capable of understanding your points

I have been working at First American full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Low Stress, Great People, chance to change old processes and interface with more senior management within your unit or team

    Cons

There isn't that much upward mobility. A good is good enough mentality usually wins out. Even if you want to excel that's not really what management is looking for.

    Advice to Management

Utilize junior talent more and recognize that some people are willing to work more even if it increases their chances of being promoted, regardless of their tenure with the company.
