Former Employee – worked at First Service Networks
Pros – Good pay, great benefits, and telecommuting available
Cons – Poor job security. Laid off in 2008
Advice to Senior Management – Be proactive not reactive. Listen to your employees suggestions and be more flexible. Anticipate things better.

Former Employee – worked at First Service Networks full-time for less than a year
Pros – Quite a bit of challenges, able to add value right out of the gate. From my start date, I had 45 days to move the general accounting functions from MD to AZ, including hiring one-for-one replacements in Scottsdale, simultaneously, in order to hand off functions. Sense of accomplishment was great, the "things" accomplished in my first (and only) ten months was rewarding
Cons – I was brought in as an "upgrade" to the controller position. Once I completed a grocery list of initiatives, including an incredibly challenging first few months of moving a department, hiring local replacements, etc. and things were running smooth (I hired a really good accounting manager), I was released due to the company's financial performance (position was eliminated).
Advice to Senior Management – Make sure that financial forecasts, especially when used to make significant decisions, are reasonable, supportable...have a solid foundation and not built on hopes and dreams and what shareholders want/need to hear. At this level, it is detrimental when you take an opportunity based on representations (which is pretty much all you can do when a private company), and are dropped as soon as the financial forecasts, that were set before you were hired, turn out to be unrealistic. In a market this tough, it can easily take a year or more to find something else (which is only compounded when trying to explain a 10 month job on your resume). Unfortunately, I am coming up on that year, and I have not landed full-time employment.

Current Employee – been working at First Service Networks
Pros – In the trenches, there are some good people overall. Everyone really wants the company to do well and works hard to make it so.
Cons – Management unable to define direction and often making uninformed decisions. The real problem seems to be that there are too many managers.
Advice to Senior Management – Investors need to clean the executive suite out. Decisions are made with little or no thought at times. Company reacts too much.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at First Service Networks full-time for more than a year
Pros – first service networks gives good pay, plenty of work and i can work at what i love to do. its had ups and downs as any business it is what you make it.
Cons – first device networks communications techniques are ancient, null and void. technology is slowing catching up , but there are many ways the company could save money logically
Advice to Senior Management – communication and use i phone instead of flip phones and tablets 1 item to carry and use
– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
