I have been working at First Transit full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Feels like you are working for a small company that is actually large. Each office has it's own personality and culture but you know you are backed by a great back office at HG.

    Cons

Remove a few "absolutes" and look at all the circumstances.

I have been working at First Transit full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The job itself is easy. The schedule are flexible and convenient if you have a family.

    Cons

Very hateful co-workers who spend their free time snitching on other coworkers trying to get them fired so they can get more overtime. You can't cash your paycheck sometimes (don't know why) promised pay increase never given. It's a retaliation environment to where if you ask questions you could possibly be let go for "stirring up trouble". Other employees warn you of this and to just keep your mouth closed if you want to keep your job. High turnover rate. They tell you to work as a team but have forms you can fill out to rat on another employee. Lots of stuff didn't get explained during training that should have. Rules are meant for certain people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop letting the senior drivers run off good drivers. Just because they've been there longer doesn't mean they're always right. Rules are made for everyone and should be enforced on everyone.

I have been working at First Transit full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Management seems to genuinely care about the drivers. The benefits are decent if you are single, but cost a ton if you have to cover a family

    Cons

It is a closed shop in the Denver area, which means you have to be in the union. Although without the union we would be making 9 bucks an hour! We are always short on drivers so there is no shortage of overtime, in fact most of the drivers are forced to work one of their days off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your drivers what they are worth!

I worked at First Transit full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

At First Transit, the pay was not good but overtime was always available for people who want to work.

    Cons

The biggest problem was to get a good running bus. Most of the busses were poorly managed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please, make sure that the busses are ready for the roads.
