    Low stress. Great supervisors/bosses. Comfortable work atmosphere.

    Cons

    Certain things are done ass-backwards. Very political.

    Keep listening to your staff. They will have good ideas at times.

    Pros

    Supportive team, hands off management that encourages staff to advance, HR works hard to foster positive office atmosphere, flexible work hours as long as the job is getting done, lovely office Uptown.

    Cons

    Health insurance is expensive. Job entails a great deal of driving. One admin assistant for the entire managerial team means that managers have spend a lot of time on basic tasks like filing and data entry. Managers also have to conduct their own compliance drives, which takes us out of the office for several hours.

    Advice to Management

    Manager productivity would increase if the company employed compliance inspectors to conduct violation drives and brought in additional admin support. Company culture stresses going above and beyond to "wow" the customer, but managers are so bogged down in these tasks that we simply don't have time to get the work done, much less the wow.

    Pros

    great benefits, large company, awesome incentives

    Cons

    use it or lose it PTO time and vacation time. rude staff at any office. Unfriendly RDs that don't care about whether people do their jobs correctly. General managers letting property managers sleep and do as they please on company time.

    Advice to Management

    Watch over your property managers a little more and make sure you are rewarding the CORRECT manager. (like, get input from their staff, that would help)

    Pros

    I basically run the building the maintenance,take care of the house cleaning dept., overseeing outside contractors and generally keeping the building in nice shape and running smoothly.

    Cons

    It took some time and work but after I got the building back in shape (a few months) it was running real well and I liked and also got along very well with the condo owners, a lot of them became good friends.

    Advice to Management

    The upper management was a good company to work for, and I had a feeling when I went for my interview with the owner of the company we seemed to think on the same order. They do their very well and I really don';t have any advice.

    Pros

    Their are no good reasons to work for FirstService Residential!!! They are a terrible company to work for. I am sorry but I have nothing good to say about FirstService Residential.

    Cons

    FirstService Residential has NO compassion or feelings of any kind. Upper management only thinks of themselves and what makes them look good. They sing a nice verse but have a horrible song. If I could give them a negative rating I would.

    Advice to Management

    President and Vice president need to look around at their Regional Directors and General Managers before they take the company under. It is on its way down the tubes.
