Pros
The people that work here have a high work ethic.
Cons
Be prepared to work more for less.
Advice to Senior Management
Loyalty isn't cheap
Pros
good support and help from leaders
Cons
limited option in canteen and there are no other option
Advice to Senior Management
nothing as uch that can be adviced
Pros
Its a learning experience like anything else. Employees are rewarded, not always for right reasons or by right people. Lots of back patting, praise and cash rewards to brown nosers. Some cool products and people.
Cons
Managers only like brown nosing people who are yes man woman. As soon as someone speaks up and challenges existing manager or process, the target is on. Lots of talk about improvement but some are just talk, no action. Repeat same mistakes over and over again. Too many people are busy planning parties and events to knowlege share.
Advice to Senior Management
Change is needed! Fiserv 2.0 is a good, much needed concept. Hire or promote qualified leaders, not figureheads. Some managers are on power trip and dont care about much else.
Pros
Location wise it good. Gives a better access to domain [BFSI].
Cons
1: Salary
2: Managers [no idea about the application or technicalities]
3: In-personal rivalries
Advice to Senior Management
Pick competent and people's mangers. You pick managers who mostly come from small MNCs and has a big ego problem.
Pros
People are great
HR is trying to improve the enviroment
Cons
If you're considering going to Fiserv ask for a larger salary as raises are always low, and promotions are scarce
Advice to Senior Management
Stop hiring from outside. Promote from with in.
Pros
Felt welcomed by technical team with the exception of the manager. The Benefits were fairly good. Location was convenient being in the same city as the College.
Cons
There are almost too many downsides to list. The largest downside is an abusive and fear driven management structure. Management is told from senior management that at all times their jobs are on the line and this is passed down to each employee. Change is not accepted or listened too. The management team has been there forever and is accustomed to keeping broken processes. The culture at Fiserv is strict, limiting you to few pictures in your cubes or offices, little foliage is allowed and decorations are typically frowned upon. Working at Fiserv changed who I was for the worse and leaving was the best decision I've ever made. Only work here as a last resort.
Advice to Senior Management
Change! Stop abusing your employees psychologically. Fire the managers that have obvious high turnover rates and are bad for the company. Stop coddling the management team and make it enjoyable to work for leadership. Encourage management to lead by example not power and fear. Compensate fairly and encourage employees to seek new skills and move vertically or horizontally throughout the company.
Pros
+Good raises for me in the distant PAST.
+Used to be a great employer that had a hands-off attitude for business units that were performing well. Things have changed for the negative though.
+Current pay is competitive for what I do, but it is quickly slipping.
+Big company.
+Nice people to work with at the local office.
Cons
-Raises have been small or non-existent for the past few years, even though the company has been doing GREAT, according to press releases and stock info. Senior management has been paid at record levels, but employees keep getting the SHAFT!
-New PTO plan takes away days that we used to get.
-Basically, every "change" they make benefits the company and senior management's BONUS, and cheats the employee out of pay, benefits, and perks that we used to get... even though the company as a whole is doing really well in spite of the "economic downturn". Funny how the exec's who really don't need yet another raise or perk keep getting them, while normal stuff that we used to all enjoy gets taken away.
-Yabuki seems to be one of those guys who is milking the company for all it's worth (with bonuses tied to short-term stock price) so he can cash out and retire while he watches the company crash and burn.
-Morale is sinking like the Titanic.
-Personal/career advancement is and always has been non-existent.
-Promotions? Only if someone dies!
-The "voices in action" survey is a joke! I don't know anyone who truly believes that their feedback is anonymous. The results from last year's survey were about as far from the truth as possible. I think this survey is only to satisfy potential investors. There is no real intent to improve the satisfaction/morale of current/prospective employees.
Advice to Senior Management
FIRE YABUKI. Then, find a new President/CEO who actually cares about the LONG TERM success of the company. Employee morale has a direct affect on the success of the company. Do you remember the old mantras, "People make the difference", and "The client comes first"??? When did these get replaced with "Associates don't matter" and "My BONUS comes first"???
Eventually, this company (and the non-executives who work here) will pay the price of your short-sighted, greedy actions. Do you care?
Pros
Great sense of communication, even between ranks. Senior management is really willing to listen to what employees have to say
Cons
There are very few cons, I have little to compare against but it is leaps and bounds nicer here than it is at previous employers
Advice to Senior Management
Management- doing a great job and really delivering on promises to employees and customers. The new carpet looks really great
Pros
Upper management looks out for their people.
You can grow professionally if you are ambitious and look to work hard and be good at what you do.
You'll learn a lot and it will look great on your resume.
Cons
It's still a corporation, which means that you don't have a lot of PTO, things can take a really long time in terms of going through all the layers and there is some disconnect between teams.
Advice to Senior Management
Slowly but surely we're getting there, but just try to make sure that there is some coherence between teams and offices. There is the "one Fiserv" mantra but there really needs to be a push for it to actually be a reality.
Pros
I felt valued as an employee and particulary enjoyed the people. Lots of talented people work at Fiserv.
Cons
Senior Management in my area didn't seem to be in touch with what customers actually wanted. They seemed to be more focused on products than solutions.
