Pros
Fiserv has a decent benefits package. The training prepares you pretty well for what you will be getting. Unfortunately, I don't have a whole lot of pros.
Cons
Non exempt employees are treated like second class citizens. When you're first hired, they go on and on about all of the opportunities for advancement and growth. Sure, you can become a team lead (one step above associate) if you'd like to wait around and kiss butt for 7 years. But if you actually want to have a productive and fulfilling career, don't go to go Fiserv. They make changes/decisions that do not take the employee into account and they are clearly only concerned about their bottom line.
Advice to Senior Management
Management neeeds to take the employees thoughts and concerns into more consideration. Unhappy employees make for unproductive employees. If you're so concerned about your bottom line, maybe you should focus on improving your employee experience...you'd see your profits go up.
Pros
Great opportunities to work with executive level management in Banking organizations.
Lots of opportunity for travel.
Cons
Poor training program.
Had to supply your own office supplies.
Occasional on-call shifts.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more open about feedback received after on-site consultations.
Be fair when setting expectations.
Discipline and fire non-performers when necessary.
Pros
Overall, the company promotes a very positive, healthy environment.
Cons
In certain departments, management can be very negative and it trickles down.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a look at some of the senior level management and talk to the individuals who work directly for them. Find out if they are micro managing and making the working environment very negative and stifling.
Pros
Respected in the financial services industry. Strong recurring revenue and client base. Wide range of business, products, and services within company.
Cons
Limited clarity in career path. Need better definition of goals and job growth. Comparable pay to the level and amount of work.
Advice to Senior Management
Define goals of business and detail career paths. Improve the recruitment and retainment of talent within the organization, and reduce under achievers.
Pros
Good area of town
Good salary and decent benefits
Cons
Very chaotic atmosphere
Lack of direction but plenty of blame
Spineless managers who only want kiss ups
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of the useless, weak managers and keep more employees. Find strong managers who are not afraid to make positive changes and see them through. Don't just ask middle managers and take their word on it (ever heard of positive spin?), walk around and see what is going on with the employees.
Pros
- Coworkers, team leads and most supervisors and managers. Can be a fun place to work.
- Impromptu exchange between associates during day is allowed and makes the environment fun.
- Beautiful facility, free parking, gym, cafeteria, opportunity to win points that can be used toward the purchase of virtually anything including travel or events.
Cons
- Health and prescription benefits were changed in the last few years. The deductible is way too high and there are no tiers. Health is basically catastrophic care and the prescription formulary does not include basic maintenance drugs--generic or name brand. Certain health groups are excluded.
- Promotion is largely based on who you know and whether you are part of the "in" group.
Advice to Senior Management
I provided my input on every questionnaire issued during my employment and I always signed it.
Pros
i was a fresher but they treat freshers as their slaves
Cons
employee exploitation more work less pay
tries to earn from employees itself
no parking facility of itself charges for parking per month
Advice to Senior Management
to develop an understanding nature towards employees, and to apprciate their good work
Pros
Lots of opportunity division wide...leadership works hard at providing internal opportunities when local positions aren't available. Client focus is paramount.
Cons
Too much critical work is off-shored. Off shore resources are not committed to our products or our customers. It takes twice the effort for us to deliver our products because we have to continually retrain the off-shore associates.
Advice to Senior Management
Conduct a serious assessment of the effectiveness of off-shore resources. Understandable that we have to do it because this is a corporate directive but perhaps we can help solve the problem.
Pros
Technology
process sometimes get lot of free times
Cons
1. salary
2. no growth
3. lack of benefits.
4. management is lacking reviews
Advice to Senior Management
See how the management team is handling the employees. Bad reputation will result is loosing employees and good clients
Pros
Regular hours and decent pay.
Cons
high stress, poor vacation and insurance benefits, obvious favoritism among employees
Advice to Senior Management
This is a very high-stress environment. Need more paid time off. Treat all employees within the department equally-no favorites!
